Seriously shocking.

And did you see the article below it about the 17 year old who is having triplets? She had her first baby at 15 and then DIDN'T USE CONTRACEPTION even though it should have been pretty clear to her by then exactly how babies are formed. But the worst part is that the dad is going to stay on govt. assistance BECAUSE THE MOM WANTS HIM AT HOME.

I'm thinkin' it's time to open a can of whoop *ss on these two.

The saddest thing is this doesn't shock me, I live in Glasgow where you see teenagers having babies because then they will get a council flat and "free money" from the government all the time. It's scary xxx

I can't believe that! He looks like he's 6 years old!!!!

He doesn't even know how hard his life will be, being a dad so young! It's hard being a parent in your 20s & 30s.

It IS shocking, but I think him looking so young makes it even more shocking then it would if he looked 13 or older, if that makes sense....

That's crazy. First of all...he's 13, he shouldn't be having sex. Second of all, he looks WAY younger than 13!! I sure hope their parents are ready to take on this baby because these two kids have no idea what to do...he's not even old enough to get an afterschool job!!

And the "girlfriend" looks older than 15 too. That doesn't help the situation. The 2 of them together with the baby look CREEPY.

Seriously! The sad thing is he was only 12 when the baby was conceived. Since when are 12 year-olds having sex??

He looks like he is like five years old. I cannot imagine my youngest son (hes 12) being a dad much less my oldest daughter (shes 17) being a mom!! I was a mother at 15 but I know that I was too young to be a mom. I wouldnt change it now but it defenitely wasnt easy thats for sure!!

I can't help but wonder wtf the parents were doing.

I know kids have minds of their own, and kids will rebel and whatnot. But come on.
I'm locking my kids in the house once they hit 13. I can't deal with this crap. It's almost enough to make me not want to have kids at all.

I dont think blaming the parents is really fair though. Ive talked to my daughter about this subject and she has told me there are ALOT of girls and boys in her school who have sex while at school. So even if the parents are around while they are at home and knew what they were doing at home/who they were with etc they do not/cannot be with them all day everyday. You at some point just have to trust that what youve instilled in your kids sticks and they will do the right thing. Im a mom of two teenagers and I know they do stuff behind my back which would disappoint me/that I do not agree with. Sometimes I catch them and they have to deal with the consequences and sometimes I dont. That is just part of being a parent. For instance nobody in our house smokes. I am totally against smoking period but my daughter tried it once. She was grounded for a long time and she had to write a report on the dangers of smoking as well as looking at what it does to a persons body. To my knowledge she has not tried it again and that was when she was about 14. She did it while spending the night at a friends house. They snuck a ciggerette out of the parents pack at that kids house and I found out a few weeks later. It would not have happened here but what are you supposed to do not let them go out/date/spend time with friends until they are 18? That is a sure-fired way to make your kids rebel and do exactly what you do not want them to try.

Okay, maybe I'm the odd one out. Yes, I'm appalled and disgusted that a 13 and 15 year old had a baby!! But I'm proud of the kid by not running away, for taking responsibility for his actions and WANTING to be there with the baby.

How many teenage boys do that? All you ever hear about is that the boy wants nothing to do with it, dumps his girlfriend and usually the boys parents go along with it. So yes, as sad as it is, at least she has the support of her (baby faced) boyfriend, and of both their parents.

A 13 year old having a baby isn't that surprising given what some kids were doing at my school when I was that age.... but what is shocking is how much HE looks like a baby! He seriously looks like he's 7.

I can't deal with this crap [2]
Well, what's scare me most about raising a child these days is the felling of the world is too changed and far from my own education and from the values that my parents told and tried to teach me to survive in this world. I'm afraid that my values is useless. KWIM?
Of course, I know things like that happens since forever. Specially where I live, to be honest. But to me it seems like this kind of thing is happen earlier, more frequently and more nearly than usual. It's possible that just now I'm noticing that. I don't know.
Childhood is shorter than ever, I think.

PS - Can you, please, have a little patience with me and my english?? *lol*

W.o.w. That's almost slightly amusing... just because he looks like he's 6 and the chick looks her age. WHAT attracted her to him? So weird. Anyhoo... yeah... good times.

And Giseli, your English is just fine! I totally get what you mean. Childhood is not what it used to be. My baby sister is 10, she plays video games and reads teen magazines and has a cell phone. When I was 10, I was still playing with Barbies for goodness sake! It's sad.

Thank you, Annie, you're so sweet (and patient *lol*)
And well said. I have only one sister and she is 13 years younger than me. I remember we both playing with Barbies too and it was a normal thing we used to do at home. Good times...

That kid...only 4' tall. My oldest daughter is almost 9 and only 4' tall and she is considered really short for her age (she is the shortest kid in the 3rd grade by several inches and shorter then her 7yo brother). I can't imagine being 13 and that tall and the fact that he looks like he is 8 is freaky.
I really couldn't get past that...I couldn't even think of him having a kid because he looks like my 7yo son...creepy.

I wonder if he IS 13.. think that the parents or people involved would lie about his age.. not that 13 is good but lets say he was 8 perhaps saying he was 13 so that he is a teenager? I dunno.. I just can't get over how young he looks. scary creepy.

When I was in junior high, there was this boy and girl in my class that got pregnant. She had the baby and they were both 13. They are still together to this day and have two more children and he is a doctor. They totally beat the odds and it amazes me that they have stayed together this long and have accomplished so much.

This boy in the article looks so much younger than 13, though. I think it is tragic for any child to have a child of their own.

extremely disturbing I think it's sad that he has to take on so much responsibility at such a young age. Does it bother anyone else about WTF that 15 year old was doing/thinking messing around with that boy who only looks like he's 6 or 7? And he was only 12 when she conceived. AND both sets of parents allow him to stay overnight with the gf??!?!!! what's wrong with the parents in this situation?? I at least hope they don't allow them to continue sleeping together so this doesn't happen again. **shudders**

Ummm, I have to wonder about Kristin's question... I agree that he looks WAY younger than 13, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if his parents lied about his age. BUT do boys even have...ummm... *swimmers* at 8 or 9? When do their parts start manufacturing those little guys? Sorry if it grosses anyone out, I'm just curious if a *hypothetically* 8 year old COULD get a girl pregnant?

Wow that is disturbing and just plain creepy. He doesn't look any older than the kids in Kaylie's first grade class that are about 7 years old! I too wonder if he is really younger than 13 and his parents are lying about his age to make it not quite so much of an age difference. Either way wtf are those parents thinking letting their son stay overnight at an older girl's house?? What did they think was eventually going to happen by allowing that?
