Red face pringles cans, paper rolls, hoarding...

i like to throw things away. so it never dawns on me to save an empty tin foil roll or pringles can to ship food in. seriously - it would give me the heebie jeebies to have something like that sitting around. i've watched hoarders and get hives thinking about stuff lying around cause you may use it in the future.

so hybrid/crafty gals - how do you keep these items around? how do you store this stuff? do you get said item - pringles and use item to ship another item within a week or two? does hybridy stuff take planning?

I'm really bad at repurposing things in a timely manner... I store and then i have to purge because I'm running out of room in my craft closet.... I need a new system so I'm going to be watching this thread carefully.

I am crap at doing this repurposing thing. If I need a cardboard tube for a project I would probably have to go out and buy one LOL I don't have anything to make those kinds of projects with

that is why it's buried in my closet... haha! out of sight, apparently out of mind. Then when I do want to re-use something - like my coffee sleeve album tutorial I had and excuse to drink two more starbuck's lattes because I couldn't find the pile of sleeve that I had kept...

I have a cabinet I save stuff in and I clean it out every 6 months. I figure if I haven't used it in that amount of time I'm not gonna use it anytime soon!!

Oh and I probably wouldn't keep a "food" container (I'd be to scared of BUGS!!!). So for that pringle thing I'd probably go out and but x amount of cans and then store the chips in another container and then let my kids have a special treat for the next month or so!!!

I have a storage space in the kitchen for them... but I mean obviously I clean them out before storing, after using ... so they are just empty clean containers

I have a bin that keeps all my oversize craft items, if it doesn't fit, it's time to purge. I limit myself to the one bin, and that isn't a big bin either.

I've been hoarding Pringles cans for the last month. They're so sturdy; I'm SURE they're useful for something. Does anyone know what that might be???

OMG I'm like the anti-hoarder except I also hate tossing stuff that can be reused/repurposed. (I have visions of the garbage heap the size of Texas floating in the ocean.) I admit, I have a bin in the garage for "repurposing/upcycling". Just one bin :P

I have enough problems with clutter here from the kids' toys and art projects and the craft stuff that I can't bear to throw out. Saving containers with no project or timeline in mind would drive me batty. But there are a lot of things that we go through quickly. If I needed a container I'm sure I could wait until we finished the food or just move the food into another container. The only things I save on a regular basis are egg cartons (for painting) and paper towel rolls. But even those I save maybe 1/10th of the egg cartons and paper towel rolls that come through our house.

We only save things around here when we know we'll use them within the week. The city has a great recycling program. I feel a little better knowing even if I can't reuse something, it will be recycled.

Those hoarding TV shows gross me out! I can't believe people can live like that. I know they have other mental problems, but the bugs. OMG! I would vomit.

My daughter's school asks for stuff like these when the term begins so they could be used for the kids' art/craft projects so I collect a few and make sure every single one is clean and I bring it to school, I don't have to worry about stuff piling up in my cupboards. I do want to re-use more but the thought of having to store them away doesn't sit well with me either.
