Default Losing Baby Weight and the Skinny Bitch

Has anyone tried the Skinny Bitch books?

I wanted to pick one up, but I wanted to hear from someone who has tried it first.

I heard about it on The View awhile back.

I wish I had known about the preggo one when I was pregnant with Yorick... I gained 60lbs!!! With Phin... I gained 7. SEVEN POUNDS.

But I'm still about 25lbs away from pre-pregnancy with Yorick, and I'd really like to find something that works. (I saw pics of myself at Fairyland and about fainted. They were that bad. I still looked preggo.)

AND... DH says I can go on a shopping spree when I hit 125 as incentive. (He thinks I look gorgeous like this, but I asked him to let me clothes shop for incentive... he likes my curves right now, but knows I'm unhappy)

I've never heard of this.. looks interesting. My son is 4 weeks old today and I have about 10 pounds of preggo weight to go.. then on to the 30 pounds of weight I'd like to shed from my first son. I saw a picture of me the other day and almost fell over... I understand where you are coming from. That whole "nursing will help you drop your weight faster" thing.. hasn't helped much or at least the weight isn't coming off as fast as I had hopped.

I've never heard of that book, sounds neat though! I'm in the process of Weight Watchers right now, I had lost all my "baby weight" and then gained 15 of it back over the past year I hate feeling uncomfortable in my clothes so I'm hoping I shed it off in the next few months.

I gave birth in April and still have oh...about 20 lbs to go (and that's with keeping about 8-10 of them since I was a little on the thin side prepreg)

On the upside, I haven't really been trying..so losing the water weight and just nursing has helped a good bit.

I'll have to check out the book..I'm not ready to "diet" really right now though. My mind just isn't in that mindset and no telling when it will be...lol besides dh loves the tatas

I've never heard of those books.

I re-started Weight Watchers on Monday. I hate "eating right".

Why can't we all just be like we were in high school when we could eat anything and everything and not gain a pound? Mother Nature sure does play some nasty tricks on us....

Oh I so need to lose my baby weight! I feel disgusting. Garret keeps telling me that I am beautiful, but I just so don't feel it..... It's so depressing.

I looked at it at Target... liked their "Smack you in the face so you wake up" writing style. I'd love to know more, though...

My friend raved about that book and especially loved the way it was written - she says it's like your best friend telling you the honest truth! She let me borrow the book months ago but it's still sitting there on my nightstand collecting dust...guess I really should read it since I do need to lose weight! LOL!

Do they only prescribe a vegan lifestyle?

You mean some people were skinny once um no not me lol. The only way I have found to lose weight is to be pregnant, seriously I weighed less when I was pregnant than I ever did before, hmmm weighing less and being really ill for 7 months or being huge and only being my normal "ill" I think I will take being huge not really great choices are they lol. Hugs Crystal xx

I've picked up and put back this book at least 10 times...I really want it, but I want a guarantee that it will make me drop some pounds before I buy it. Actually, could I lose weight just by reading? Cause that I could handle.

The reviews on B&N are interesting, seems like people either love it or totally hate it. I'm all for losing weight and being healthy, but I don't know that I could ever handle being completely vegan.

Cooper just turned 6 months and I've lost 30 pounds.

Thank god I only gained 11 with him, but I still have about 25 to go before I reach my pre marriage weight. I've actually lost all the weight I gained with both kids.

Weight Watchers is what I do and breastfeeding. I might check out those books though. They sound great.

I do LA Weight Loss. I have lost 25 pounds thus far, 20 to go to be pre-pregnancy and then another 10 to be where I want to be.

I have checked that book out and I just don't like how it is written- it really is all opinion. These girls don't have any degrees or special knowledge about how to eat right. They ran the rerun of them on Ellen today and they advice cut down is to eat organic and not eat anything with chemicals (ex. diet drinks, gum, meat). If you need it to jump start your diet then it might work but if you are looking for advice I don't recommend it.

I'm one of those eat right and exercise girls. Eating several small meals a day has really helped me with exercise 3-4 times a week.

My little sister read the book and is always quoting things to me and my mom from it. She's a size 8 and dropped to a 6 using this book. I just don't think it's the right approach for me, but everyone needs their reason and their anchor to lose the weight - I'd say check it out (from the library for free if you can.)

Let us know how it goes, I might have to read some of my sis's book.

Yup, me too, Bryn. Not the 40 pounds part... 13 pounds. Then I stalled out. And gained 3... so now it's only 10 that I've lost.
