Default Why does....

deli sliced white american cheese taste like heaven to me?

I'm eating a whole wheat pita with peanut butter, and 4 slices of american cheese (NOT in the pita) for lunch today. Am I 5 years old?!?!

I've been eating an alarming number of Oreo cookies the last 2 days. My inner 5 year old is on the loose too.

No it's real cheese, not fake cheese. Real deli sliced cheese si 89054380234 times better than the fake stuff.
I think the white tastes better, but it's all in my head (or so I've been told). My grandma always bought white american when she made us lunches and I always liked it better. Probably cuz it's real cheese, not fake cheese. Kwim?

Let's upgrade you to 7 or 8 then if there's no juicebox, Col.

The real 5yo test is if you put ketchup on all meat products you eat at home: hot dogs, hamburgers, meatloaf, pork chops, steak...

[I do, but I steel myself from doing so with pork chops & steak in public so people still believe I'm a grownup.]

really? it is REALLY cheese? not just processed cheese? i have never had the stuff but i didn't think it was real cheese. i have no idea. i just never thought any kind of American cheese was actual real cheese. i have no idea why i think this though.

ok, after Mimi asked, I had to go look it up.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_cheese
Quote:
American cheese is a common processed cheese. It is orange, yellow, or white in color and mild in flavor, with a medium-firm consistency, and melts easily. It has traditionally been made from a blend of cheeses, most often Colby and Cheddar. Today’s American cheese is generally no longer made from a blend of all-natural cheeses, but instead is a processed cheese (i.e., it is manufactured from a set of ingredients[1] such as milk, whey, milkfat, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, salt) which meets the legal definition of cheese.
I totally understand what you mean Col by "real" = deli. I prefer Deli cheese most of the time. Like a REAL deli ... not quiznos, subway, ect. The Deli Cheese just seems to be a better quality. At most of the time it is the only place I can get sliced Tillamock Cheddar which is my absolute FAV cheese.
