Default Do you ever get annoyed...

by STUPID things?

Like...someone standing next to me a drinking too loud...the glug glug glug makes me kinda nauseously annoyed. Patrick was chewing ice yesterday and I gave him a dirty look. I guess sounds can really annoy me more than anything else?

Anyway do you ever get over something you KNOW is stupid but you can't help it?

Yes, most often when I have PMS, but yeah, sometimes you just know its stupid, but you feel it anyway. I have one going on right now actually.

My whole life is pretty much one big long string of being annoyed by stupid things. Lol. And the eating and drinking sounds are HUGE triggers for me. I silently grr at DH for that exact thing all. the. time.

Mine's more of feelings... if my dh is sitting beside me and bouncing his leg so it vibrates me. I go crazy! Or if I'm not that close but its vibrating the couch, same reaction.

Definitely!!! Especially when I am PMS'ing... or pregnant. My pet peeve lately isn't eating or drinking noises like it usually is... it's stuff like DH picking at his fingernails and when he flips the radio stations in the car constantly. I once got overly miffed at a friend (while I was pregnant and particularly *touchy*) who called artisan bread : are-TEE-zhun. Um, no... it's ar-TIH-sehn! I didn't say anything to her because I knew it was SO stupid to get annoyed about, but I talked to DH about it for days . Poor guy. LOL!!!!

This whole weekend was like that for me!!

DH cutting his toenails in the living room
DH flossing his teeth in the living room
DH saying, 'Can you hear that?' (rather than 'Could you turn it up, please?') when he sits down to watch a TV show I have on
DH saying, 'Are you cold?' when I get up from the table or am in the car and put a sweater on
SS asking, 'Can I eat that?' when DD pauses between bites at a meal
SS asking this weekend if I thought it was possible that the dog could be smarter than DD (!!!)
DH poking/prodding/picking at SS to make him yelp/scream while they are walking upstairs to his room after I've just gotten DD to sleep
local drivers who wait until the last minute to merge into the exit lane on the interstate that is backed up for 2 miles
people who text and drive
people who eat and drive
people who talk on their cell phone and drive

YES! This is another huge one for me. Seems like DH is ALWAYS bouncing his leg. I also really hate when I'm sitting next to someone and our arms are just barely touching. Drives me nuts! But, really, I'm like Laura too. It'd be easier to list the things that don't annoy me.

My trigger is my mother sighing. She has this big dramatic sigh, like life is just too much to bear, that gets under my skin. Worst part is I've started to notice I sigh just like that when I am annoyed, which just makes me madder.

Oh I crunch ice compulsively you would hate me irl.

I think getting ticked over silly stuff is the norm...like right now-Connor is pissing me off beyond words and all he is doing is standing at the fridge with it wide open...I'm gonna punch him. (not really, but I wanna)

I get so annoyed when I hear someone chewing food, especially if they are chewing with their mouth open. My big thing is when at a red light and someone in a car near me keeps creeping up into the intersection like it is gonna make the light turn green faster or something. If I am in the car with someone and they are doing that I flip out! LOL!! Oh ya, I used to chew ice and when I got my iron levels under control it stopped.

90% of the time I'm pretty laid back and not much bugs me. The other 10% of the time EVERYTHING bugs me. I can tell when I'm getting in to one of 'those' moods too. I just tell my family that I'm irritable and they get this 'oh joy' look on their face and back off. LOL My DH, for example, is always doing things to annoy me (on purpose). Most of the time I laugh it off, call him a brat or something and be done with it. Every now and then though it hits me particularly wrong and I bite his head off. I always go back and apologize later but gosh... ugh. It's so hard not to get irritated now and again.

I thought I was the only one that had an issue with chewing/swallowing sounds. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Anytime kind of food eating sounds get to me, especially when one of my kids eats with their mouth open. I swear I could hear it across a crowded room.

Chewing and swallowing and any kind of eating noise drives me crazy. I thought it was just me, but my daughter has this too. She's alway fussing at her brother for making too much noise at the table.

Another thing that annoys me is when someone talks to me when I'm not in the room or can't possibly hear them. Why do they do that?? And it never fails when I am brushing my teeth with my electric tooth brush someone will come in and ask me something. There is no way I can hear them and no way I can answer them. I have told them this and no one pays any attention.

yes...especially when I am already in a bad mood. I could make a list but really everything annoys me at ome point in time. Bad driving habits are at the top of that list.

- Yes, the chewing food near me drives me nuts, esp. when it's my kids.
- My kids looking over my shoulder to what I'm doing on the computer.
- My son asking questions for which he could just-as-easy-as-me figure out the answer. For example, I ask him to get his clothes out of the dryer and put them away and he asks if there are other family members' clothes also in the dryer or just his own.

There are plenty more, but I'll stop there.

Whistling. I can't stand it and my husband and daughter do it all the time.
If this happens in the morning (that, or singing) I could seriously kill them.

My DH does that bouncing leg thing, but only at church!! And since he is like a 12 year old, if I ask him to stop, he'll just do it more. So I have to try and ignore it.

Also, when any of my boys come in my office to talk to me, they HAVE to pick up something to mess with - click a pen, pull tape off the dispenser, etc. Stop. It.

when I see a child sucking on her own hair and her fingers. OMG. ICK.

First my girls know I'd cut their hair if I ever caught them sucking on it AND there is a little girl in DD#2's class that does this. DD#2 has even told the little girl, "eww dats gross. my mom would cut my hair if she saw me doing that!"

second - the constant fingers by the mouth. OMG EWwww. Kids fingers are DISGUSTING. And then in your mouth...ugh.

And lately - every word out of my girls mouth is annoying. Just the tone they use. *sigh*

Oh yea. Smacking lips and slurping are at the top of my list. Another that makes me batty is when my son farts or burps. I know it is natural but it annoys me. It is so gross. AND it is really hard to teach my son manners with it when my hubby say "Wow! Good one son!" I could kill him. Grrrrr

Oh........and my son being nosy about EVERYTHING.....convos, phone calls/texts and looking over my shoulder to my computer. I go a little more insane each time he does it. Ugh.

most of it has to do with people I do not know....like the people in the store who cannot wait for my stuff to get rung up before trying to move to the spot where you pay.

Or the car that sits and sits an sits until you get right up next to them and then they decide to pull out in front of you and proceed to go 20 miles an hour.

lots of other crap to do with peoples driving habits

This daily scenario is one of my biggies.

Hubby: Do I have any clean work shirts?
Me: Did you look in the closet?
Hubby: No
Me: They are hanging up...In the closet, where they always are and have been for the last 8 years.

*bangs head*

I have issues with sounds too, especially loud ones, and I can't stand it when people aren't taking their surroundings into consideration when talking or making noise. Sometimes I just want to tell total strangers to use their inside voices!

You totally should... And please, tape it.

My husband either pretends to not hear me or ignores me when I'm talking. Later, I will mention something and he will act all surprised. Like really, I told you all about it an hour ago.

My baby sister was hear for two weeks. She's ten and has a bad habit of leaving the empty packages to food on the counter. I told her I wouldn't be buying anything that came in a box if she did it again. lol.

Mostly everything that DH and the kids do.... yeah, pretty much everything.

People who make it a point to criticize other people constantly (ie: this girl that works in the office where my office is, criticizes other businesses/people on a daily basis, about how they're not as good, it's weird, not how she would do it....)

People who think they are best at everything, been there done that, never gonna be anyone anywhere that is better...

For me this but with my son. His attitude. I don't know if its just cause he is growing up and becoming more obnoxious... I mean more rebellious or what. He gets this tone that makes me wanna just slap it out of him! I have to walk away and let his father deal with it. Specially when he does the "Yes, Moooother" line. Now he is no longer allowed to say that and sticks to yes, ma'am.

This. I'm beginning to think that I'm such a terrible person because little things irk me endlessly. I can't stand people who chew gum and talk at the same time. Basically all unnecessary loud noises are annoying; nobody can tolerate that, amirite?
Oh, and the lack of manner in public places. It actually drove me so mad I built my graduate thesis around it

Ugh. Totally my DH. He also changes subject all the time when I was talking. I told him that was very rude; and he got defensive (well you're topic are not interesting enough, etc.) Sometimes for fun I just drop some conversation bombs to see if he's really listening/not.
