Ive done this the last two years and plan on doing it again this year. Anybody else doing it? If it is the first time you heard of it basically you choose one word you want to focus on in the coming year. I'm not sure yet what my word will be though.

I always pick a word but never keep up with it..I think I might just incorporate my word into my PL scrapping this year and maybe I can keep up with both

mine this year is resilience. i don't make it a year long scrapping thing but i do incorporate it into my everyday life. in a major way.

I'm thinking about "active" but I'm not really a one word person. I have a whole list of goals for the year. However this word would sum up most of them in one way or another.

I don't really incorporate mine into my scrapping in a major way either. But, my word for 2013 is Magnify. I'm building on what I accomplished in 2012, which was a GOOD year.

I am still thinking on mine.

In 2010 I chose CHANGE. It was the perfect word for that year. I didn't scrap about it at all but I did incorporate it in to my life and was constantly aware of things. I have always hated change, even good changes. 2010 turned out to be a big year of changes for me and I was able to work through it all so well by keeping my word in mind.

In 2011 I chose SIMPLIFY. I started strong but somewhere around the middle of the year it all fell apart. I still need to work to simplify!

In 2012 I chose ACHIEVE with the notion that I would continue to work to simplify and actually achieve something. Bwahahahah! It wasn't a total flop of a year but I didn't keep my word in mind like I should have (really should have as I bought these awesome metal letters that I put up on my shelf that spelled out achieve!).

For this year I am considering 'Intent' or 'Intention' as in live with intention, speak with intention, etc. Still debating...

2010 - I think my word was caputer... but I don't remember for sure..
2011 - Savor... all the little moments...
2012 - Focus... yeah, didn't do any of my goals for this...

I'm thinking this year it should be "Complete".. as in complete what I started for it will help complete me as a person... Hubby is thinking of a possible career move that will drastically affect our family... so I think my word might have to be OMG!

2011 my word was live...as in live more fully. Experience all life has to offer. Well I spent a better half of 2011 not really living at all just sort of drifiting through the days.

2012 was love...to love more. I think I did well accomplishing that. I felt like I did not tell those I love often enough how I felt about them and I held onto silly things that would not matter in the long run so I let go of a lot of that.

I am not sure about this year yet. I do scrap it at the beginning of the year but it mostly is just something I try to keep in mind throughout the year.

Don't know yet what mine will be this year. Last year it was "Capture". I wanted to capture the little moments with my kids, take better photos and capture some time (time management). I think I did alright. I loved my word.

ETA: Found my word for 2013! Embrace. We got a lot of changes coming our way in 2013 and I need to embrace it. Also, I am wanting to be a better mommy and take the time to do the little things that matter for them. Embrace motherhood, wifey stuffs and make sure the people I love know they are loved every day. Embrace.

That's my problem, too. I don't know if I'm choosing one this year. If I do, I think I'm going to choose "less" or something similar. Less clutter, less focus on the negative, and less weight.

For 2012 I chose Purpose, making it a point to live and be happy, spending time with the kids, being more 'in' the picture instead of behind them.

For 2013 I've chosen Time. I wasn't decided at all until I started making a list of the 'goals' I have for the new year, and their common theme just jumped out at me. I'm excited to see how I can make this year's focus work.

I totally love the One Little Word. I find it much more inspiring than a New Years Resolution. It's like a defining thought for the year.

2012: Nuture (we moved into our new house this year)

2010: Gift (the year before I had emergency surgery and being alive was a real gift!)

I have considered TIME as my word as well. It would fit in to a lot of my goals too.

I am also thinking about BLESS as my word (or BLESSINGS, BLESSED). It would fit in well.

The last 2 years I've used PERSPECTIVE as my word. I didn't do anything scrappy with it, but I feel like I kept it in mind all year.

This year my word will be BLESSINGS and my sister just posted this pic on FB and I think this would be a great way to keep track of my blessings. And then maybe I'll scrap it at the end. Would be nice to have so many, they wouldn't all fit on a page,huh?

Mine is FRUGAL. Not just about money, though since the company DH works for is in bankruptcy and everyone was given a 10% pay cut, money certainly figures into it. But also with my time, what I give to others versus what I give to myself & my family. And being better about things like repairing things rather than just replacing them, recycling, not driving into town for just one thing or one errand. Actually eating the leftovers or planning the meal better so there aren't any. Making better use of the stuff we have rather than buying a new thing etc.

I'm also going to go more minimalist in my scrapping style.

My word for 2011 was (be) Positive and it has really helped me stay positive even when things don't work out the way I want them to.

I didn't pick the word for 2012.
I wasn't planning on picking the word for 2013 either. But looking at what I've been planning and working on lately for coming year, DECLUTTER seems to be the word for me. Declutter the digital life (photos & kits, online surfing), declutter from home, delcutter the mind and learn to focus.

I was going to keep it again for this year, but I think I'm going to go with THRIVE. I want to learn to thrive on healthy things like family time, being in the Word, and also by eating and being active.

Also- I mentioned this on Laura's FB, but wanted to say it again in case you missed it/aren't on her FB. We have a local company who makes all things clay. They do these awesome wristbands & pendants with a word or two on them. I had one last year as a constant reminder to LIVE. And I'm going to get one that says THRIVE for this year. They do customs, as well.

And the coolest thing about it is for every $5 you spend, you give an African clean drinking water for a year.

I have one I wear all the time that says courage. I bought it because it reminded me of my son and husband. I also bought one for my daughter. I dont remember what hers says. Then I bought her and her hubby ones that say ♥11.11.11♥ (their anniversary)
