Default Best places to buy bedding?

I need to replace my bedding and I've been scouring stores and the internet. I want to make sure I'm not missing some great places. I'm specifically looking for a duvet cover with matching shams. So far, I'm intrigued by Pottery Barn (that's where I've always bought from), but I'm wondering if there are cheaper options out there. I don't want ultra-cheap bedding, since I do like quality and I want it to last. I also like a wide variety of patterns (I don't care for solids). So, any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Oh, that is really pretty Mari! I wish it came as a duvet. So many stores only carry comforters and not duvet covers. It drives me nuts, lol!

ETA: here is the bedding I'm looking at right now. I'm not sure about having a white base.

Me Too! used to buy at Eddie Bauer Home, but they closed their doors... some limited stuff is available online from them... and fabulous quality... have had hit and miss success at Lands' End... will be watching this thread avidly

Okay, I just had to share, I was on the Linen and Things website and found one singular king sheet for $1850.00 ..... Oh .... my .... goodness!
http://www.lnt.com/product/sheets/21...lat-sheet.html

Perhaps $235 for the PB stuff for a duvet, 2 shams and 2 Euro shams is a steal, lol.

Nettie, it's so sad there is no more EB home

Corey, it is hard to wait! But since our duvet cover has a huge tear (that I don't care to mend) and our other set is 7 years old (and quite frankly I'm very sick of it), I'm feeling justified, lol. My DH is like ... whatever dear, lol.

I love PB for bedding. Unfortunately, Jordan is UBER picky about bedding and never likes what I like.

If I don't get PB then I usually stick to Bed Bath and Beyond. Macy's has some nice stuff too though.

i hear you on the white... but it's a nice crisp look? frankly I'm envious - i don't have this visual freedom - DH would veto this pattern in less than half a second - so i will live vicariously through you!

Bed Bath and Beyond does have nice stuff.

i actually found a set i like at Walmart, but i have my doubts about the quality. plus, the one i like is chocolate suede. gorgeous but i have 2 dogs that get on our bed. probably not a good idea, lol. can you say 'hair magnet'

dh isn't too picky. i have a toile print one picked out at JCPenney that i showed him and he said 'okay' so we'll see!

I wish it was, but all of the Schlossbergbrand items are that expensive. The matching pillow shams to that particular series are $696.00/each and the duvet is $1,494.00! Can you even imagine!?? Crazy, crazy stuff!

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, I have checked Overstock (some of the stuff I liked weren't stocked in the right size). I looked at Ebay too, but I get overwhelmed by the amount of choices, lol ... especially since I want to find matching items too. I will have to take a run by Macy's too. They always have nice bedding (especially if you catch it on one of their sales).

Nettie, it's so funny you say that about the freedom to choose because we were just talking about how there is a much higher frequency of "feminine" bedding out (at least in my opinion), which led me to wonder, how much influence do husbands/SO's have over the bedding choice, lol.

Not sure about their selection for Duvet covers, but I have had good luck with Kohls.com.

I haven't checked their online store. I went to a local store and they didn't carry bedding, so I didn't even know they sold it! Good suggestion!

Have you checked Domestications dot com?
Sara got her first big girl bedding from there when she turned 2 and she is 11 now, still uses it every night.

I recommend Linen Source. They are a catalog company and online store. I used to work for the man that owns the company. They actually have people that travel the world looking for suppliers. Everything ships out of Tampa, Florida.

Here's a link to their duvet covers:

honestly, i love the high class wares but i refuse to pay for them. lol do you have any outlets around you? if not check out target, no joke. everything bedding wise i have purchased from them lasts. my bedding is actually from wal-mart *gasp says the woman who refuses to shop there*. its holding up brilliantly...still in perfect shape after 2.5 years. what about bed, bath and beyond. those people have some serious sales and coupons. you can score there and they carry ralph lauren and stuff. gl, sheri.

I have to admit, I bit the bullet last night and bought the PB set. The prices were competitive with all of the other places.

Heather, that looks like a great site! I wished they had a better selection of duvets, it seems like everyone only carries comforters

Juli, linensource has a pretty good selection! Thank you for the recommendation, I may pick up some sheets, etc. there.

Lizzy, I love, love, love target, I don't recall if they carry duvets or just comforters. I was recently there looking for the kids' bedding, but didn't look too closely at the regular bedding. I bought some sheets at Walmart for the kids (super duper cheap). I actually have plans to head to target today for a yoga mat and some other odds and ends, so I will definitely browse the home-wares!

I've been getting this Seventh Avenue catalog for a couple years now, and I soooo love a set in there- but it's more than I want to pay right now. This set is just plain gorgeous and I love the colors! When we're done renovating the rest of the house and finally get to our bedroom, I want this set and to design my whole bedroom around it!

That's really pretty! I can see why you like it! They say that blue is a good calming color for a bedroom too. Since you spend roughly a 1/3 of your life in bed, might as well do it right!

I really like the set you got Sheri If you don't want to use white sheets, at least you have several color options to pull from within the duvet.

Thanks Col! I was thinking that too! The curtains and bedskirt that I already have match too! So I'm pretty excited about that!

Nettie, as soon as I get I will let you know! I just got a new dinning room table set too (it was very cheap). We're having our roof replaced over the next week, so as soon as the yard is back to normal, you definitely need to come over for a play date!
