Wondering what you do?
I was planning on making a 12 x 12 album of the family and then make my son a 8x8 album. I figured boys when they get older don't want to lug around a large album that their mom made them.
What do you do?

I'm random, so you'll probably find this useless.
I printed a book in the fall that was supposed to be our guestbook for the wedding, and it was 10x10. I find that to be the PERFECT size for me, but it's not standard. And that book was expensive, so I won't be doing another anytime soon. (Admittedly, I need to shop around and see who offers what and compare prices.) I've started doing more hybrid LO's, and I'm REALLY enjoying them. But I like doing them in random sizes too. So for those, especially the BOM prompts with the new challenges, I'm starting a big "anything goes" album. It's a 12x12 American Crafts album that I can put all sort of page sizes into. I can trim down page protectors to 10x10, or use regular 12x12/8x8/8.5x11/6x6/6x12 ones.

I've made 8x8 albums for my niece and nephew...I've put 8x8 layouts on an 8 1/2 x 11 book for kids and me, and I've done 12x12. My youngest son's high school band books are all 12 x 12 and he loves them. He still lives at home, but he'll get to take them once he moves out and has his own place.

I usually print 8x8 and put them into books. I have done a few photobooks that were more of a theme. I am so far behind on printing it's ridiculous..like over a year behind. It's sad I know.

I print 12x12 and 8x8 of everything that I do... I keep the 12x12s for the "gallery" so the youngins are not really allowed to touch the 12x12s... And, the 8x8s she can have to "read" to her friends and show off in her universe. The 8x8s are so much less expensive (usually free from artscow) and if something happens to them, it's not as much of a big deal to me.
But, I think when she moves out, she can have the 8x8s or the 12x12s if she wants. The beauty of digital is if I need to, I can always have another 12x12 printed for myself!! Huggles!! ~Sarah~ |

I create in 12x12, but print in 9x9 because that's the size of my books.

I create everything in 12x12, but I print in 8.5x8.5.
Its the cheapest, I started printing 12x12. Then 8x8, but I like the 8.5x8.5. |

Those look awesome Vanessa! I haven't printed anything in a long time. I still have over 200 LO's that need printing!

I'm still undecided how I want to organize my layouts into books... One for each girl-just of each girl, or one for each of all the layouts that have them both in it... I'm still clueless. I like to see them printed, so for now I just do single page prints in 12x12. I figure this way when I decide how to organize them, I can just slip them into a 12x12 scrapbook, and if I need more of the same lo printed, I can do that easily. I did make my mama a random book of the girls when we lived in GA, and it was an 8x8 album that she LOVED, and it's perfect size for her to carry anywhere she chooses to take it, or to just sit on her end table.
I don't think I'll ever make an actual book(I like that I can just slip them in an album and change my mind later), I'd never be able to decide on which layouts to put in it.. I don't scrap by any time line either. Maybe I would if I had a specific event or something, but that's probably it. |

Vanessa that is amazing!! I am like Nikki... SO FAR BEHIND on actually printing! I love the idea of those books, but I do NOT scrap in order! Maybe once I am actually caught up I could do something like that.
