Default 1899 Scrapbook

This is so cool. I hope 100+ years from now my scrapbooks will mean something to someone.

Scrapbooks give peek inside Hemingway's early life

You can view the scrapbooks online too!

That is really cool!! The oldest scrapbooks we have in the family would be from my DH's late mom... she passed when he was 10. It's interesting going through them, getting a sense of who Catherine was when she was a teenager. DH always says that he thinks that if him mom was still alive, we would have been two peas in a pod... I would have gotten her into scrapbooking and she would have gotten me back into crochet and sewing...

It has inspired me to add more journaling to my pages. Maybe even add pages of just journaling.

That's really cool. My dh was going through our scrapbooks from over the last 10 years when I cleaned out a closet and said he would've forgotten so much of that day-to-day life if I hadn't scrapbooked it. That was encouraging to me... and motivation to keep going!

I come from a long line of scrappbookers. And was fortunate enough to be the recipient of their books. I have my great-great grandmother's original scrapbook of her five children from the 1880's, my great-grandmother's scrapbook of my grandmother as a baby, and my grandmother's scrapbooks of my mother as a baby. My mother was not a scrapbooker but she gave me all of her photos so I can scrap them for her! I treasure these books more than I can say.

That is awesome. The closest my family came to scrapbooking was sticking stuff in the family bible.

So neat! Our local museum has scrapbooks from the late 1800's and early 1900's. I find them so fascinating. The handwriting in them is just gorgeous!
