Default flat irons

What flat iron do you have that you love?

My oldest daughter begged for a Chi last year for Christmas, and I found a great deal on one. She loved that thing, but then last week at her dad's house, they had a power surge while she was using it. Now, it's fried.

So, she wants another, but she's not sure that she wants to "waste" a christmas present on another Chi. LOL

Do you guys have one that you love that's less expensive than a Chi?

I just use a cheapy from Target. I can't think of the name atm, but it's black with pink polka dots. I think it was $40.

I have a Paul Brown Hawaii. I think they run around the same price as Chi, but I found a good deal on Ebay when I bought mine a couple of years ago.

You can exchange the Chi. They have a year warranty. (sometimes more depending on the model). I love my chi.

GHD is by far the best there is. CHI used to be made by infared it was great then they sold out to farouk and started getting parts from overseas and they are crappy now, I used to sell alot of them and everybody started returning them. So then we went with the GHD and have never looked back. They are awesome!

i second this. GHD irons are amazing. they're pricy, but so worth it. especially if you use it all the time. they're so much better than CHI irons.

I have a Walmart cheapie that has lasted me about 4 years. I think I'll ask Santa for another because I have to use so much product (anti-frizz, etc) that mine has a ton of build up on it. I'll most likely stick with another cheapie one because I'm cheap, lol!!!

I have a T3 and I really like it and they are pricey but a wee bit cheaper than some. I have a T3 hair dryer as well that I quite like.

Ooo, which one do you have? I have been eyeing them but I'm a little scared to pull the trigger, haha.

As far as flat irons, I'm on my 2nd CHI and I'll probably buy a GHD when this one needs replacing. I don't find the CHI holds it heat over time - my first one had to be replaced at 2.5 years. I do love it when it works though.

I have THIS one but I have had it for a long time and they have newer better models available now I do believe. I have never had any trouble with it and it did cut my drying time down by a lot. I have thick hair and lots of it so it was always a pain to blow dry. one day I will upgrade to one of the even nicer ones but that's pretty far down on my list. )

I have the GVP pink one that Kristin posted but am not all that happy with it. I feel like I need a wider flat iron so I may check out the GHD.

my chi is starting to fart out after 5 years so i recently bought a 1.5" from paul mitchell and it's amazing! it was very pricey (about $180) but it comes with a LIFETIME REPLACEMENT, you simply mail in your old one with the warranty that comes in the box and i think $5 for shipping and they will replace it forever! it will be the last flat iron i ever buy.

I have a Chi, I've had it for over 5 years. I had a cheap one but I found it didn't get hot enough, when this one dies, I'll definitely get another one!

I LOVE my GHD!! Never had a Chi, but I don't ever plan on buying anything but GHD. That's what my stylist uses & she got me hooked!
This is the one I have.
