Lovin' On Lena....
It's officially official. My little sister, Lena (you know the one!) turns 29 today. She's usually not the kind of person that wants a big deal made over her birthday but in light of all the recent heartache she's been forced to deal with I'm going to make ONE HUGE DEAL!
So sit with me and discover 29 little reasons I love her more than words could ever express.......  1. She is the best sister ever. She really is. I know people always say things like that but she really is the best sister ever. I'm so lucky to have her in my life. 2. She is my best friend. She puts up with me and my singing without (much) complaint. She's always willing to do whatever I need, whenever I need it. 3. She is an amazing scrapper. I know you all know this one already. Go and give her some loving! Lena's Gallery 4. She is a fantastic mom! She takes care of 2 small children, day in and day out, as a single mom. They always come first. She would do anything for them. 5. She is amazingly selfless. She let her son, Nathan, live with his dad because it felt like the right thing to do for their family at that time. I know it was the hardest thing she has ever done. That decision came with great personal sacrifice and pain and I know it broke her heart into a million pieces. I wish I could make it whole again for her. 6. She is the most kind person I have ever met. She is unbelievably nice to people who have been extremely unkind to her. She treats these people with such kindness and civility and they do not deserve it. 7. She is not afraid to be silly! She is always willing to act silly with me or the kids (okay mostly with me!) whenever and wherever we are! She is so much fun! We always have such a great time together and it always rubs off on people wherever we go! 8. She loves my children like her own.... and they love her too! 9. She makes the best peanut butter pie. There are no words. It's like you've died and gone to heaven. 10. She has super powers. I'm not kidding. She really does have a super power. She can return anything to any store...period. She doesn't even have to be there in person to do it. She can use this power over the phone, if necessary. It's amazing. (Don't worry, she's a super HERO, she would never use this power for evil!) 11. She is the queen of decorating. She can take nearly no money and an ordinary (even ugly) space and make it extraordinary! She truly is a home maker. She can make any place feel cozy and home-like. 12. She is not shy! I really appreciate this one because I really am! 13. She is patient and tolerant. She is willing to watch endless hours of tv shows with me that I have netflixed. This is often stuff she has no desire to watch. Sometimes she even likes it  ! Schmidt!14. She doesn't put up with crap. From anybody! She's not afraid to stand up for herself. 15. She is so generous! Did you see that birthday cake she baked me? She went to the store at like 10 pm to gather supplies and stayed up half the night baking and got up early so I could have it first thing in the morning as a surprise! 16. That girl can accessorize! I mean seriously! She can accessorize any outfit in 2 seconds flat! From head to toe she's always dressed soooo cute! 17. She plays stupid facebook games for me Sorority Life, anyone? I'm still working on getting her to play Pet Society :P! 18. She has such grace under pressure. She has been through so much these last few years and I think most people would have cracked but not her. She has exhibited amazing grace and ability to cope and adapt to any situation she's been in. 19. She is one tough cookie! I've never met anyone as strong as she is. 20. She doesn't complain... I force her to eat chicken for dinner nearly every night and she doesn't complain at all.! 21. She never gives up hope. Even after all the bad stuff, the bad relationships. she hasn't given up hope that her happily ever after is out there...and trust me, it is out there. 22. She is creative. She is forever coming up with fun activities and projects we can do together and with the kids! 23. She is thoughtful. She always remembers birthdays and anniversaries. She even remembers the days Katriel and Sebastian were born to heaven, even when no one else does. 24. She knows just how to make me laugh. We sure do laugh a lot around here! 25. She gives the best snuggles. They will cure any ailment you've got! 26. She's always willing to give me a break from the kids! I'm so thankful, sometimes we all need a little time to ourselves. I'm so glad we are so close that I can return the favor! 27. She is soft hearted. She may not always show it but she's a big sentimental softie...just like her big sister !28. She forgave me...for that thing I did that one time... 29. She is my inspiration. Through it all she perseveres and still makes time for the fun stuff in life. She is my sister, my best friend and my partner in crime. I could go on and on and on. So please share some lovin' for Lena on her birthday! I'm still in the midst of preparing her birthday surprises but I assure there will be lots of pictures taken and the merriment will shared here with you all!

this is soooo totally awesome!! I have three sisters and none of them ever even remember my birthday much less do something this thoughtful!! You guys are really lucky to have each other

It is nice to witness such love between sisters. I, sadly, have no sisters. But I have a cousin, Susan. We are tight. I had breakfast with her today. We will consider it Lena's Birthday Breakfast!

Aww you two are SO lucky to have each other & actually be so close, I only have a stepsister and even though we grew up together we aren't close at all. Happy Birthday Lena!! Hope you have a wonderful day today, I'm sure Tab & the kiddos will be spoiling you today!
