I'm buying a house!
So, I'm finally buying my first house! How exciting is that? I found somewhere in my village, close to my parents and right around the corner from where I work. The price reflects the work that needs doing - literally everything ripped out down to the plaster walls and floorboards and then all new stuff put back in again but I have the money saved for the deposit and all the work so it should all get done fairly quickly. My brother is going to do the work so all we talk about is 'house stuff'

Congrats!! We also just bought our first house, we're moving at the end of the month, so I know how exciting it is!! It's also close to my parents but the biggest change for us is that it's really in the country. And I've been a city girl for 19 years! Big changes ahead, but I'm sure we're going to love it!

So, you have to think that an old person had it for forever and I am not an old person so it's going to turn from this into a lovely modern, light and airy home. And it will get some serious kerb appeal with a pretty garden. Basically if you can see it, it's going to be ripped out and replaced. Congrats and good on you for being able to see past the old and ummm, well, that kitchen to the potential that the house has to offer! I can't wait to see all of your updates and improvements.

Cool for you, Andrea. The refurbishing will be a challenge, but on the other hand I'm sure it will be fun, too. Especially the "planning it all" and "enjoying when ready" parts. :-)
