Question - Dragging and dropping a file into PS
with a Mac.
So on my PC I could drag a file from a folder into Photoshop and it would land right in the layout I was working on, now with my new Mac, it's just opening a new window within photoshop. Any ideas? I'm not even exactly sure how to google find my answer. Also, if anyone has a list of shortcuts I need to know, please share them. I'm still slowly getting moved over. |

I a newbie mac user....Mine drops the item onto my LO as long as I "release" (unclick) it over the middle of the LO.... does that make sense?

That is very strange! I don't add items to my layout this way, but I just checked and I'm able to add elements directly onto the same canvas. It probably has something to do with your general preferences. I would play around with those and see if it helps! Hopefully someone else has a better suggestion if that doesn't work.

Now I'm wondering if it's because I'm using ACDsee.
Edited, ok, I tried just a regular file w/out using ACDsee, still same thing. Weird. Last edited by nesser1981; 02-20-2022 at 10:08 PM. |

I don't use Mac, but could it have something to do with your preferences? Like this one?

I tried that, it does open them a little smoother, they're just floating now, but still not placing the image right into my layout.
