I am trying to use Lex's strings tutorial, but when I try to get the marching ants by clicking command and the layer, I don't get the marching ants. What am I doing wrong?

AK! Hopefully Sheri or one of the designers can chime in? I have no clue! Does your keyboard have a CTRL button?

ETA: Make sure you're clicking the layer THUMBNAIL too

And when I click the control button, I get options like if I clicked on the right button on a mouse.

I don't have a two click mouse. I'm on my laptop and I only have an older Mac mouse.

Hmm, that is weird Paula. I hold the command key down and then left click on the layer thumbnail. Alternatively, you can right click on the thumbnail on the layers palette and select "select pixels". HTH!

ETA: looks like you got it figure out while I was typing my post
