Default Christmas breakfast

What do you serve for breakfast on Christmas Day? Is it the same every year?

We usually gather for brunch at my mom's house. I always make Tater Tot Casserole (usually use bacon or breakfast sausage) and these Sausage Biscuit Bites.

The bites are super easy and quick to make. The casserole I make the night before and pop it in the oven in the morning. Makes life easier on what is already a busy day.

We usually have pancakes, bacon/sausage and eggs. You know the normal breakfast food. Once breakfast is done and cleaned up then everyone can open presents.

We don't do a special Christmas breakfast. It's breakfast like any other day. We only do special dinner on Christmas eve and special dinner at Christmas day.

For as long as I can remember, my Mom made sour cream coffee cake for breakfast on Christmas. Since I became Mom, I've been carrying on the tradition. That's probably 40 years of sour cream coffee cake Christmas breakfasts!

We traditionally do pancakes or pikelets for special breakfasts.

Whatever we had on Christmas eve. Usually it's roast chicken or ham, dinner rolls (we love it!) baked macaroni or spaghetti, galic baby potatoes, cheese platter, and salad. Breakfast is not as festive as Christmas eve for us.

It's our tradition to have Cinnamon Rolls! I don't usually make them at all throughout the year, so it makes it special to have it every Christmas morning. This is the recipe I use...only 3 ingredients! http://tastynest.blogspot.com/2011/1...18468362712261

One year I made an overnight crock pot breakfast casserole and it was just OK.

I try to try harder on Christmas Day. Most days breakfast isn't a big production unless Hubby makes. So me making breakfast Christmas Day is mostly for my Hubby.

This is our menu but with a twist. We are making these Cinnamon Roll Waffles: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/ATX6ZB...wISrBUggbYTK4/
I am really hoping my Christmas Wish comes true and my daughter does most of the cooking! LOL

Breakfast is our only real Christmas tradition. We go all out! Hash browns, eggs, bacon, pancakes, mimosas, the whole nine yards!

When we lived a couple of hours away from my family & my ILs came over for breakfast (but we had no other big meal or celebration of the day), I made breakfast casserole & Jesus birthday cake.

Now that we live 15 minutes from my parents' house & go over there at 10 am to open presents (and eat cookies & Chex Mix until lunch at noon), I don't bother. My kids either have the candy from their stockings or store-bought chocolate donuts or both.

That's a bummer. Everyone loves the casserole. I have never tried it in the crock pot though.

I make a huge deal out of it........we have something called suikerbrood (sugar bread), orange juice, chocolate milk, baguettes, croissants.....it's a feast for sure The only thing I am not good at is decorating the table for Christmas......need to check out Pinterest for some nice ideas but we have a small table so if I decorate a lot.......there's no more room for the good

We have no special Christmas breakfast. Usually my older son leaves the house in the morning of the 25th to visit his dad. So we kind of have to rush breakfast.

We host my husband's family every Christmas Day starting at noon - so I make a breakfast casserole the day before when I'm making other foods. This is similar to the recipe I use... then I may or may not do Cinnamon rolls - hubby usually veto them because we know it will be a high calorie day. haha

My dad and step-mom join us in the morning. We all cook together - eggs, bacon, toast, cinnamon rolls (store bought for us), orange juice, coffee and fruit. Then it's on to the presents! We've been doing this for as long as I can remember.
