Default Do you use online backup and storing sites?

If so, do you have a favorite or recommend one?

I just switched from Mozy to CrashPlan.

I loved Mozy, but the $40+ a month was getting to be a bit much....
CrashPlan was $60 for a year.

I have been using Backblaze for about 5 years now. It saves files that you delete for 30 days, which makes me happy when I do something stupid like delete an important folder by accident. It will also back-up any external harddrives you have as long as you plug them in every month for back-up. It is $5 a month, but I think it is cheaper if you pay for it a year at a time.

We use crash plan, too... DH decided to go with them because we can have up to 5 (I think) computers backed up since I'm not always speedy on getting my stuff backed up to our server. Also, it allows us to use one of the back ups for my mom's laptop...

We use BackBlaze. I've heard people with some complaints about them, but we've been completely happy. When my hard drive died last year, I had an EHD backup, so I didn't need a full restore from them. But, while I was waiting for a new hard drive, I was able to download specific files that I needed to my hubby's computer, and it was a life saver!

I use Backblaze and have been very pleased. I've never had any issues and I've had to recover files more than once.

Crash Plan here. I have subbed for a little over a year now and have no complaints really. I like the price and that it backs up without me having to worry about it. The only issue I have had was that as I have more data to backup, I encountered some memory issues in the beginning because of the amount of data I was trying to save. It was an easy fix though and they responded quickly to my email.

Another Crash Plan user here. I"ve used Mozy and Backblaze in the past, and so far, I've been happiest with CP. For me, when Mozy upped their prices, I had no choice but to leave. Backblaze was great until there was an unrecoverable error with my data at some point. No one could tell me why it happened, and there was no way to get it back. I googled and found that it was a common error. So, since I was starting my back-up over anyway, I decided to try CP.

I've been with them for almost a year now and I've had to recover some individual files. I found the process very easy and was super happy to see that they still had things stored that I had deleted from my computer as much as 3 months prior.

so many different reviews, lol!

I really need to do something. I don't want to risk losing everything AGAIN. Sigh.

I use BackBlaze and don't have any real complaints but if I were starting from scratch, I'd probably go with CrashPlan. The pricing is similar I think but CrashPlan gives you an option to seed your backup from and EHD for an extra fee and I don't believe they delete files after 30 days like BackBlaze does.

i've been really happy with Backblaze. i didn't know about Crash Plan when i first signed up but Backblaze has been helpful.

the only bad/sad thing was it wasn't finished backup up so i lost all of Lola's 1st Christmas (& some of Rian's birthday) when my ehd fell off the table :'( it crushed me AND it was because i had just edited the pictures so it had to resave them.

I've had great luck with CrashPlan. Like Tronesia, I had a couple of hiccups in the beginning but was able to Google how to fix the memory issue really quickly and it runs like a champ.

I just have an external hard drive and once a week, I transfer all of my new files to it. It's worked well for me, but it's almost time to buy another!

I recently switched from BackBlaze to CrashPlan. I was happy with BB while I was using it, but when I got a new computer and needed to start from scratch I chose CP. My main reason was that it would back me up to both the cloud and my EHD. When I used BB I had to use a Norton product to run my local backup, and the Nortonun backups had failed on me more than once. Another thing I love about CP is their phone app. If I want any of my backed up photos or other files while I'm not near my computer, I can download them from CP to my phone.

Nope. I tried a couple of years ago and it was going to take like three years for the first backup. My internet is lame.

Another Crash Plan user here, I'm in my 2nd year with them and have been super happy with their service. I was also with Back Blaze and Mozy prior to switching and I feel like CP has by far the best plan for the price.

I use CrashPlan because it's the only one that is compatible with my Linux operating system....and has worked great for me.
