Red face Let's talk hysterectomy's.......

More in particular the Da Vinci Robotic one. I am scheduled this week for it and am starting to get a little nervous and I guess if there is anyone here who has had one that can tell me what to expect I would be most grateful and forever in your debt.

My boss at work had hers done with the robot thing and it went really well. She is not having problems from the hysterectomy but had a bladder lift at the same time and a wire from the mesh they used it sticking out. OUCH. But she is super happy not to have a period anymore!

I had one but not Da vinci robot style. I heard/read lots before I had mine. The DV style seemed to have a quicker recovery. I hope that holds out true.

I had a vaginal one four years ago and it was the best thing I could have done. Recoup time was fast and easy too. I have never even heard of the Da Vinci Robot Style, but I hope it is easy on you and that you feel better fast!

Mom had one, but the nonobot way. She couldn't do a lot of lifting, but her recovery was pretty easy, if I remember correctly. Fingers crossed for a speedy and mostly pain-free recovery.

I had the Da Vinci robot done about 2 years ago and I had maybe a week total recovery. The best thing I ever done. I was up and going in 2 - 3 days. You will love not having a period anymore

good luck, Melissa!!

My dad had the da vinci for his prostrate surgery, I know not the same thing - but same tools and "area"... he had super small incisions and really didn't have much pain after the surgery, just a little tender in that area... and they healed in a week...

I bet you'll do amazing! I wish mine could have been robotic! Mine was surgical, and had to be a vertical incision...so it was a hard recovery for me but from what these ladies say (and what I've read on hystersisters) the DV one is the Hilton of hysterectomies
