A spin off from Jessicas thread

Go outside and take a photograph of your home today and share it with us

I'll do mine in a bit when I have clothes instead of pyjamas on

When we went house hunting two years ago I scrapped our new house! It was before I started here so I never uploaded it to this gallery (but used SSD products!!)

Here's mine:

Those houses are all so big.....? Are they 2 or 3 levels high?
In Holland most houses are not single and have 3 levels. I just got the key to my new house 3 days ago....No pictures yet because everything is a mess!

Here's one from the day we moved in:

Things look very similar today, other than 2 chairs on the porch and a decoration on the door and a second car in the driveway, lol!

Nikki I adore your house. Just the picture of the south

Tracy there is a development not far from where I live that has houses similar to yours. I love the driveways done with the pavers. The houses near me are in really nice gated developments. My daughter has some friends that live in some of them.

Lauren & Linz I love your houses too. Soooo pretty!! I love the finish on the front of those houses.

Its so funny how different areas have such different style houses. Like the one I showed you is pretty common in the historical districts not only in Titusville where the one I like is at but also downtown Orlando. Most of the ones in downtown Orlando though have been bought up and turned in lawyers offices or real estate or a doctors office or soemthing. I do love the historical homes though.

Really all of these are gorgeous houses!!

Wow, I have loved visiting you all. Thanks for indulging me it's a really interesting thread.

This is where we live

Land is expensive here in the UK, our little bungalow (3 beds, living room, kitchen, family bathroom, ensuite, garage and garden) would be about $350,000. We don't have basements over here either

I still live with my parents, partly because I'm happy still being at home but also because even though I have been teaching full time for 11 years I can't afford to buy even a teeny tiny little house in the village where we live and where I work on a single persons wage.

Here's our little home! We love it, perfect starter home for us.

I don't know when this picture was, but the bushes are MUCH fuller and prettier now and the grass is better and worse all the same.

This is our condo in February. I thought we were going to live in it about 5 years; instead it has been 8 1/2. Wish we had sold before the economy and the housing market went south (and before the kids had destroyed even more of it!!!).

So are your houses made of wood? Can you paint them any colour you want? I love them all and am considering moving to America

Most houses are wood construction on the interior and either brick, wood or vinyl siding on the exterior depending on the climate and the "style" of the area. Some neighborhoods have restrictions on what you can do to the exterior (homeowner associations) and others do not and you are free to do whatever you want!

such a fun thread! except seeing such beautiful houses makes me hate my tiny boring ugly one even more, lol. DH wants to buy his dads house, but i don't. i dont want to live in Lafayette and i am looking forward to the 'hunt' for the right house for us. i don't want to live in a house i have already seen and know, lol. i want my OWN.

We live in a condo. Real homes with real yards make me SO homesick! But I suppose being across from the beach evens it out...

We live in a four bedroom cottage style house. I'll show you a photo of it, but it has changed a lot through home renovations:

Here's a LO I did for the March portfolio:

You know what makes me really jealous? You have those proper little mail boxes on posts outside your house! We just have a letterbox in the front door and the post drops onto the doormat. It must be much more exciting to wander out to your mail box each day to see if the postman has been

Yes, I love that my grandparents still have a little box at their front door!!

I do love having a mailbox, but that sounds fun to me.

What I don't like is that so many neighborhoods here have "community" mailboxes... so like, half the street has mailboxes all in one place, and you have to use a key to get your mail--it's like apartments, and I don't like that! I love how homey a real mailbox is.

We're closing on our first home at the end of the month! I just got the picture off of the real estate website. I love it! It was built in 1923-ish and is absolutely gorgeous!

You have such lovely houses! Ours looks dreadful in comparison - I may add a pic here later, but I feel like crying when I see your gorgeous properties in comparison, so I may not! Our home has zero character and virtually no garden - actually we're extending this summer to add more space upstairs as we couldn't begin to afford to move. As Andrea said, house prices over in the UK are just silly.

There's nothing exciting about it when you have to encase the mailbox with brick because the neighborhood teenagers think it's funny to take a baseball bat and knock it down. While it hasn't happened to us yet, it has happened to our neighbors and it's a fairly common thing in many areas around here.
