please pray for my daughter

I am on the way back up to the hospital now. I have been there since about 9:00 last night. At first we thought she might have a kidney infection then appendicitus. The dr's ran all sorts of tests and her white blood cell count is at 20,000. They have no idea what is causing it though and wont know they said for 48 hours. I stupidly looked it up online and of course you get all kinds of horribly scary things so pray that it is just a little infection that will run its course in a day or two and she will be home with us then?

{{HUGS}} we had a similar scare w/ my son last year w/ the high WB count, thankfully after being on iv antibiotics they determined it was just a really bad ear infection. so hopefully it will just be some sort of infection that will be easily treatable! sending thoughts and prayers! xo

thanks guys...just made it to the hospital and she is in her own room asleep so im stealing her netbook for the moment. it was so weird. we were at her FFA Award ceremony and she was fine. she was eating then said she felt a little sick to her stomach. She said she was ok though just a little tired. So we went through the award show almost to the end when she gvot up and ran to the bathroom. I went after her to make sure she was ok and found her doubled over in pain in the ladies room. I told her she needed to go to the dr so I callled the dr and he said head to the ER. She argued swith me that she needed to go to work. I told her no and called her boss and asked her to find someone to cover for her. We get here they get her back and they thought too it was just a UTI but her urine test came back very miinimal. They did a CT scan and found a cyst which they thought was causing the pain but then they got the blood work back and it was so high so they did an ultrasound and it showed nothing abnormal. So just the spiked WBC. The dr's said for now it just for observation and to push antibiotics and wait on the blood and urine cultures to come back so I guess we wont know anything for sure for 48 hours? That is what they said it would take for the cultures. So I am just praying and trying to find something to occupy my time while she sleeps. She of course is worried if she cant take her final exams next week that she wont get to graduate...i told her at this point i'll settle for her getting better.

As far as school goes, you can talk to her school to work something out. Some schools will allow the teachers to grade her on her past work for her final grade. You may have to advocate for her and give the school this idea.

I had to come home for a little while. They did a strep test (although she hasnt complained of a sore throat), they tested for mono and are redoing the CBC and something else I cant remember now. Poor kid I feel so bad for her. I want to go throttle her boss though because even after finiding out she is sick and has been hospitalized she called to yell at her. Tell her thanks for giving her so much warning (the dominos pizza starts to open at 10 but they dont start actually taking orders that early). I started calling her at 7 this morning and got no answer and called at least 6 times so she would have someone to come in and open the store and told her how sick she was last night.

The plan was to try to nap at the hospital but because of hte crap with my neck(the herniated disks) and sitting in the hospital chairs for nearly 15 hours I was just in so much pain I needed to come lay down and get some of the pressure off my neck. Im really hoping when we get back up there we have some good news. I figure at least if they can figure it out we can find a plan to deal with it. It really is the not knowing that is kinda scary right now.

While I never worked at a Domino's, I used to be a supervisor to many college students. If someone's mother called to tell me that one of them was in the hospital I would have been worried about the girl and we probably would have sent a get well card. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with unreasonable people on top of everything else.

what a crappy boss and when she gets better she deffo needs to just work somewhere's else...
her exams should be ok with the proof that she is in the hospitol. Some schools here just grade on work past and sometimes they just let them make it all up when the kiddo gets better.

I dont really have any updates just wanted to say thanks. And to tell you the "boss" is the owner. Well the owner's wife anyhow. He owns two stores. Most of the time she is ok. When I called to tell her she couldnt work last night she didnt sound thrilled but she said no of course take her to the hospital. And I know my daughter she would have went to work just like she was and worked all night had I not forced her to go to the hospital. So we are headed back up there and I guess Ill be staying with her because someone has to take care of our other two at home. They are hoping for a Tuesday release...maybe. Ill update more once I know. Thanks again ya'll...makes me feel good so many people are praying she gets better!

Oh and I guess her boss called and asked how she was doing. She did not apologize butg I think when she gets better I am going to go talk to her boss and tell her look she was fighting me to go ot the hospital because she was scheduled to work. She works dang hard for you and puts up with alot of crap from te customers and her co-workers and covers for other people all the time. her boss should really be happy to have someone who is that dedicated to her jobv thta she is willing to come in no matter hw bad she feels.
