Default Tell me it's gonna be okay...

I guess I don't do as well with major change as I thought. Joel convinced me that I needed to switch over to a mac. I'm scared to death. I don't have time to relearn everything right now.

Tell me it's not going to be hard and I'm not going to get frustrated anymore than I already am. Please?

Awww, Kristin you'll be ok. I don't own a Mac, but from what I've heard you will save thre time to figure out new easily stuff by not waiting ages til your computer is up and ready to talk to you.

the only issue I think you'll have depending on the version of CS you use now is upgrading to CS5 or PSE9

I was scared for so long and now i'm like what the heck was I scared about lol

I have both on my desktop and I can tell you that it will be fine! If you do mostly scrapping or things related to pictures, you will be ecstatic! Congratulations!

You will be fine. In fact, you will be more than fine. I love my Mac. I just converted last October. LOVE IT. It wasn't much of a learning curve. The only adjustment I had to make was getting my scrapping software in a Mac version. That was it. It won't take you long to figure it out PLUS you have a lot of girls here that can help you out with any questions.

You'll do great! I changed a couple years ago because my husband insisted and let me tell you I was terrified! But once he showed me how to use it, it really isn't much different than a PC. In fact once you go Mac you never go back! I love having all my windows open next to each other and movable from one to the next with out minimizing, etc.

I debated getting a Mac when I got my last computer but the cost of buying all new programs for the Mac was the deal breaker for me.

Adjusting to the differences in PSE drove me CRAZY. I felt like I'd lost a lot of my smooth workflow. I still prefer PSE 7 on my PC to PSE 8 on my Mac, but I've adjusted. It took me about 3-4 months to get comfortable enough with it to say "Well I guess I like it." Now it's been 9 months, and I love it.

You won't regret it. I've been a Machead for the past 3.5 years and I will NEVER go PC again.

You'll do fine Kristin. I can't give much advice about switching, since I've been a Mac girl since the beginning of time. But, I know you'll figure it all out and love it - and a lot of the girls here have switched, so they can answer all your questions. Enjoy it!

Everyone I know loves their Mac! I however fall into the same boat as Amber. I can't afford to buy all new programs, so I must stick with what I have for now.

It took me awhile to get used to how the Mac works but photoshop and everything seem to be the same its just the getting use to OSX verses windows that took me awhile to get used to but once I did it seems so much easier and I hate using a PC now.

You will definitely be fine. I've been on my Mac since Christmas. Now if I get on a PC, I'm like "wha???" and a little confused, like I forgot how to work it or something. I think Traci said once that Macs are just really intuitive, they just make sense. And I could not agree more.

I was a little frustrated upgrading to PSE9 on my Mac. But I did it all at the same time. There really aren't that many frustrating changes in PSE9 I had to learn, but getting used to it while getting used to my Mac took a little bit. I'm big on keyboard shortcuts, so just the simple thing of switching where my keys are (command key in a dif place than my ctrl key used to be) was hard to get comfortable with. But I kept at it and I'm totally in a "zone" now like I used to be with PSE6 on my HP laptop.

eta...also, I used to always use a USB wireless mouse with my PC laptop. I could plug the same one in to my Mac, but have not. I don't see myself ever using a mouse with this laptop. I really love the touchpad! I figured silly things out about it by accident (two-finger scrolling and "right" clicking), but once I figured it out, I absolutely love it!

I just recently switched from PSE6 to PSE9 and I am tempted to go back to 6 cuz I really am not happy with it. Suggestions!?

once you get the different shortcuts memorized, you'll be okay. promise!
