Default eyeliner suggestions :]

The eyeliner i use (and love) is really expensive.. the bottle i have is reaching its death (getting clumpy, and well gross). I use liquid liner- if t hat wasnt apparent haha.

What kind of eyeliner do you use? Why do you love it? I do not like pencil or th e soft pencils. . ive tried them, im a master at liquid and you'll probably be hard pressed to convince me to try something else.. but i'm willing to listen LOL

Also note..I like bold

this is what i use http://www.gabrielcosmeticsinc.com/i...1&ParentCat=12 it's 15 bucks a bottle though. no bueno.

My new favorite is What a Line by mark. It's liquid, but it's like using a felt tip pen, imo.

It's $9.00 and works really well. Long lasting, too. http://shop.meetmark.com/shop/produc...=41081&level=4

My other favorites are...

Get In Line Waterproof ($6.00): http://shop.meetmark.com/shop/produc...rep_delivery=1 (I take this one on vacation- it's sweat and swim proof)

and

On the Edge ($6.00): http://shop.meetmark.com/shop/produc...rep_delivery=1

These have a cap on them that, with purchase of a lip gloss or other "hook up" item, you can get a connector and connect two items together-- 2 items hooked up is about the length of a standard writing pen.

I use Smashbox cream eyeliner (lava is my fave color) and swear by it. It's the only liner I've ever used that doesn't fade or smudge during the day. It is kind of pricey ($22) and you need the brush to go with it, but it lasts forever. HERE is a link to the description on the Smashbox site.

Whats the deal with the Mark makeup? Is it a home party type product or can you buy it in stores?

I would get a jar of Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals and one of their eye liner brushes. You can use it dry OR wet and that jar will last you 5 millions years.

This is what I was planning, but don't have any yet. Just had them show me how to use it last weekend, but after buying a new starter set, a travel set and blush, I thought I had spent enough. There are some similar ones on etsy that are much cheaper though.

yup, this is my way. i have black, two different purples, and a foresty-green-grey color. and i got their weather everything, which turns any powder pigment shadow they have into liquid liner. (:

It can be kind of smoky if you smudge it before it dries. It depends on whether you use just the tip of the flat eyeliner brush, or the edge. When I want to smoke it up, I use the cream eyeliner and then brush on waterproof shadow liner over the top.

Creme and Gel liners both can give you a smokey technique.

The mark. ones are great. I will disclose I do sell mark., but only because I really do believe in their products, and I wouldn't recommend something to you if I didn't totally love it. There are some products of theirs I don't recommend, but their liners just happen to be must-haves for me.

I used to use L'oreal's HIP Creme liner, which worked well for me, but it also got pricey (Last time I purchased it, it was $11).

I use Smashbox. Seriously the most amazing makeup Ive ever tried. I dont do liquid liner though. The kind I use comes in a pack with my eye shadow and it is like creamy but it can do a bold line. I use an eyeliner brush to appy it.

Mark's What a Line would be right up your alley, in that case. Our other liners are a lot thinner-- it's not that you can't achieve dark, bold lines (you totally can). It just is not as thick or bold of a line as the What a Line.

It sounds totally weird but my favorite is the soft pencil from Victoria Secrets. It goes on so smooth it is ridiculous! I got gift cards there for my birthday so grabbed some since I needed it.. I'll never get it anywhere else now.

Smashbox liner is amazing.
Mac has a cream liner that is very similar. Love it too....last until you remove it!

I use a pencil most of the time from Benefit...it's very soft, and then I smudge on eye shadow to keep it from wearing off. I do softer lines if I can though...I think it has to do with getting older.

When I go out though (which isn't often enough), I like to use the cream. Get the brush that goes with the smashbox one if you can though...it's so easy to use and that stuff lasts FOREVER!!!

Another thing I really love about Smashbox (I paid like 36 dollars for 12 shadows/4 eye liners, a pack of smashbox brushes which were FWP and since I was over a certain amount on my purchase I also got a free bathrobe). well anyhow what I really like about them is with the set I got it came with little cards to show you different styles and it has really helped me learn how to apply eyeshadow to get really awesome effects and blending the shadows and all that. I used to do just one color on my lid and another above my lid and then just blend a little and liner above/below my lashes. Now sometimes I use like four shades to get a good look. Another good brand I love is Too Faced (think thats what its called) I buy the kits/combo deals whenever I can cause it is usually cheaper that way and wait until ULTA has a FWP.

A lot of issues with eyeliner is just technique and practice. I couldn't wear it until I took a night to TEACH myself how to use it (since I sell makeup, it's one of those things I HAVE to know)... I sat there for an hour and a half... apply... wipe off... apply... wipe off... and finally, I got it down. Now, I think I look weird WITHOUT liner.

As for the hooker note, 95% of the time I use blue, purple, or brown. I DO wear black sometimes, but usually it is just to line the upper waterline (that space between your lash line and your eyeball on top) and the lower waterline. Then the OUTSIDE of the waterlines I do in a different color. It really makes the eyes POP without screaming lady of the evening

I have a mixed opinion on it. I like that I always have eyeliner on because I have really pale eyes, a very light green, that just fade into my skin if I don't have eyeliner on. But I don't think it's enough pop, so I always put eyeliner over it anyway. I could have a touch up and get it bolder, but how will I feel about that when I'm 60 years old?? So, I went with the standard version and though it's not enough eyeliner for leaving the house, it is enough for around the house. I also have tattooed eyebrows because my eyebrows are very sparse and thin so it was suppose to add a bit of oomph to my eyebrows and honestly that was a waste of money. It's just not enough and I use an eyebrow pencil over it. So, I'd give the eyeliner a B grade and the eyebrows a D grade.

I don't have any other tattoos, so I can't compare the feeling, but the feeling of having the tat eyeliner is like someone poking you with a toothpick near your eye. So, not awesome, but not horrible either. The hardest part was being super still and not blinking. You have your eyes open while they are doing it and if someone touching your eye would drive you crazy, then I can't recommend this. LOL I wear contacts and touching my eye doesn't bother me a bit, so I was fine with that. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

I wear black occasionally but smudge really well so it isnt black black. I like the smoky eye look. But for people with light colored eyes like mine I think the black makes it really pop

I usually use a pencil, but sometimes I will use a liquid eyeliner. I also have some of the gel liners (like the Smashbox mentioned). My fav liquid eyeliner is by Stila, but it isn't any cheaper than what you are using. Sephora has a new line of liquid/felty tip liners out that are $10. They have a ton of different colors. LINKY

Also check out Kat Von D's liquid eyeliner. I have one of her discontinued colors and love it. LINKY

Oh... and you aren't the only one who doesn't wear black. I get annoyed sometimes when they don't make a liquid eyeliner in additional colors. Black is entirely too harsh for my light complexion. I don't mind using a dark color, but black is just harsh looking. Today I am wearing a dark plum eyeliner.
