Since I have been having to borrow a dinky P&S Kodak from DH since April, I'd definitely buy myself a camera! A Nikon 3100 or 5100 perhaps. Throw in a second lens, and that would probably take care of it all!

*If I found it on sale ie a Black Friday sale, and had the extra, I'd pick up a Kindle or a Nook color too

I'm not exactly sure what I would spend it on but here are some of the things that came to my mind first: digital slr camera, tablet computer (IPad or an android one) and one large massive shopping spree (clothes, shoes, make up, accessories, ect).

~ upgrade my cell to the iPhone4, since mine is nothing but headaches and we haven't had an issue with Des' iPhone.
~ new clothes - I only own 4 shirts that I can wear, and only 2 pairs of yoga pants - no jeans and nothing fancy in my wardrobe. I tend to wear things out and not replace them. lol
~ a printer, as we don't even own a cheap one anymore. lol

It is so sad that $1000 doesn't go as far these days. We just got done booking a hotel room for 3 days in NY, and it was $685. Ugh.

OH! & whatever I did, the first thing I buy would be a ticket (I would take DH, but I can't per your rules lol) to go see Wicked at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta next month!
