Default Picking out siding is hard!

I hate big life decisions. It's hard to pick something that I am going to have to live with forever, but I think I may finally have it. Being who I am though, I need validation from other people, so tell me what you think about this siding:

Here is what it looks like on a house on a couple of houses:

I am going to put an accent color, gray, in the peak of the porch roof for more interest too. It looks like this.

I am going with the light gray because the stone on my house is gray.

The new windows will be white, the garage door is white and I am thinking about getting this door and painting it bright red or sunny yellow.

So what do you think? And what is your opinion on the door color, red or yellow?

Validate my choices, please, or suggest something better! LOL

Love that siding too and the color. I love it with grey accents and I agree on the YELLOW door!

LOVE IT! side note: I used to have a yellow front door and I absolutely loved it. Anyway, the color looks very similar to what my brother's house is, and it looks so nice irl. The blue would pop with a yellow door, as would that nice door! (My SIL painted their door a lime green, and that brightness, similar to yellow, looks great against the blue.)

Love it! Like love it! If you want a pop of color door, I'd do yellow. My house is yellow and I painted my front door slate blue. So opposite.

Wow! That is such a pretty color. I echo Kiana. I would love it with grey accents and a yellow door.

Thanks all! Seems like the yellow door is the big winner. I love the happiness of yellow, so I am good with it. LOL

Oh, Lorie! That siding is absolutely gorgeous! It makes me want to spray paint mine because I sure can't afford new siding! I can't wait to see the after photos when your home is done!

Turns out that I have had to alter my plans a bit. After creating some mock ups of what I had in mind, I realized that my "feature" was actually a bigger part of the front facade then I thought and the color I picked was too light.

So I've decided to stick with the same color, but use two different sidings for some texture. I had to alter color a bit because I couldn't get the two types of siding I wanted in the original color and in the new color, I can't get board and batten, so it will be regular siding with the "cedar" shingle accent in a new blue called Colbalt.

To be honest, the colors are extremely similar, so it is not that different.

I am still trying to decide on the color for the door and am thinking about going with a wooden one instead of a painted one.

Here are the images that have inspired the changes:

This is the new color and style of siding with a wood door. I like the look of wood, but not that door. Too fussy.

I am in love with the color of this door.

See, I told you guys this was hard! LOL

I like it! I think a wood stained door is beautiful- you can see ours in this layout with the kids...

Also wanted to mention- double check about sun fading! We had a dark gray paint color and it has faded pretty noticeably in the sun on the 2 main sides of our house that get a lot of sunlight. We repainted our garage doors and it's very obvious (to me at least!) that it's not the same color anymore as the body of the house. We've tried to touch up trim and the 'easy' things to prolong the life of the paint, but it's about 10 years old now- so it's probably time for a refresh anyways- but just something to think about.

I really like your door! It is almost exactly like what I would want.

The siding I am using is supposed to be fade resistant. My contractor says it is one of the better ones, or course more expensive, but worth the price because the color holds up. Believe me, I understand that because my house, which is currently a lighter blue, has faded to a gray blue.
