Grrr, I need to stop being lazy when I shop!
It's really annoying to buy something that I already have!!
I used to check whenever I was buying something that wasn't a new release, but I've gotten lazy about it because the shoppe warns me now if I put something in my cart that I already have. Unfortunately, it doesn't warn me if I put a bundle in my cart and I already have the kit. I wouldn't mind so much because the price difference between what I paid for the kit and the cost of the bundle of kit+cards is less than the cost of the cards, except that I don't use journal cards and was only buying the bundle for the kit! Oh, well. Maybe this will turn out to be a good thing, because I'm determined to use those journal cards!! Maybe once I put them in one layout, they'll start being my new go-to embellishment and I won't understand why I never used them before. Thanks for listening to my rant! |

I used to avoid cards too but I now love them and usually purchase the bundles So, maybe, yes, if you try using them once, you'll become a fan. I like cards best on pocket pages but they do look great on traditional layouts too. I sometimes use a card instead of a title and it works great!

I totally agree that cards work great as titles!! LOVE them for that!

I've done this before because I noticed that the cart doesn't tell me if I bought pieces to that product. It's frustrating for sure, but I'm also very thankful it tells me because I've saved so much money with it telling me "you've already bought that"!
Journal Cards---you know what, I used to hate them. I thought they were specific to pocket scrappers and straight lines. But once I gave it a try, I really like the look of them. They make great titles for your pages, if you stink at titles like myself! I also use them as an element when I'm clustering! And I also cut the journal cards apart and use them for wordarts Once you start thinking outside the box about journal cards, they should become your friend! I can't wait to see how you use your new journal cards. And again, I'm sorry you bought a product already! |

Great ideas, ladies! I should try using a journal card for my title - I like having titles on the page, but sometimes get really stuck coming up with one that doesn't sound totally lame!

I've done the same thing. I am SO thankful the store tells me when I've bought something, but yes, it's a little frustrating to find you've bought part of it.
I have found, though, that when I'm buying a bundle (when I already have the kit), it's usually on a 50% off sale, so I'm still okay with it.

I love when a card makes the perfect title!

I love that the shoppe shows you when you bought something. If I'm unsure, I will usually add the kit and any other variations to my cart (ie. cards, bundles, etc), to see if any of them flag as purchased. That's saved me a few times. I sometimes think I bought just the kit but then find I had actually bought the bundle.

I don't generally pocket scrap either, but sometimes I trim the cards to use as smaller wordart pieces, like this "never stop dreaming" card...
