Default Mojoless

Thanks to real life interfering over the past few years I haven't scrapped much or taken any photos. Due to outside issues (I'm no longer studying at the moment & my mum has a new job) I'm now on my own a lot so photo taking doesn't really happen much any more. I started PL for 2013 & 2014 but didn't complete them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my mojo back?

I would write some goals about what your want your PL to be. Just because everyone else does weekly doesn't mean that same format will work for you. What about a Currently approach? If you look on Pinterest there are about 12-15 categories you can set up and then show pics or talk about what you are currently doing. Currently reading, currently wearing, etc.

I like using journaling prompts I find on Pinterest and using those as ideas of things to incorporate in to my book. I never make it through a whole year either. But I have about 4 years of Jan - May/June complete and I've decided that for me I'm okay with that. It's not incomplete...It's just a like Week In The LIfe...it's just First Six months of each year. LOL! Let go of the rules...make it what you want and need it to be.

Go through galleries and Pinterest. Find ideas that speak to you creatively. Then make a list of those things and look at it often.

I'm happy to do monthly for PL which I think would work best if I end up back at university or working full time.

I'd carve out some time and do some crazy brainstorming. Sometimes I'll sit down with an actual (gasp!) paper notebook and brainstorm all kinds of ideas for albums or themed projects. I'll go on Pinterest, Instagram and do basic web searches till one idea leads to another and I have a whole page of notes. Then I always have something to go back to if I feel stuck. Lemme go snap a pic of what I was working the other day for my 2016 album. Hold on.

You said you're alone a lot right now and not taking many pictures, so I'd start there. Maybe make it a goal to try 1 new thing per week or month and document it. It can be something simple you do at home, like trying a new recipe, or something bigger like taking a day trip or visiting a new museum. I know PL is one of the big things right now, but I think its strength is helping people deal with scrapping many photos quickly. What about going back to traditional digital pages?

Why do you like scrapping? Is it because you want to record your story or is it because it is a fun/creative outlet for you? Or both? Is it because it is solitary or because it's a way for you to interact with others (albeit virtually)?

If you figure out your purpose, you can figure out how to best tackle your scrapping and lack of mojo.

I would say its both for me.

I had always wanted to keep up with scrapping while I was studying but as my uni workload got heavier even during breaks it got pushed further and further down plus any down time I did have after being out of the house up to 50 hours a week I just wanted to rest - there was very little work/life balance for me

What about making an album about the uni career you just finished?
  • favorite classes
  • favorite professors
  • challenging classes
  • the class you thought was going to make it impossible to graduate (if there was a really tough class)
  • the friends you made at uni
  • the friends you hope to keep after uni
  • a "typical day" for different semesters
  • how you traveled to and from uni (transportation might change)
  • favorite place to study
  • must haves to study (favorite pen, drink, snack)
  • dreams for your future now that you've finished
  • any other fun stories/memories from your time at uni

Capture the memories now that you didn't have time to when you were so busy. It was such a big part of your life and might be fun to look back on years from now.

Also, can you take some pictures of a favorite classroom, student lounge, etc.? One of my former universities did a major remodel since I graduated and none of the areas I studied/visited with friends are there anymore.

Thats a great idea - it might be mostly photoless though as I spent so much time at uni and/or doing school work I forgot to take photos

i do a monthly project.
sometimes when its month when i dont have much pictures i go out for a walk , like in spring and take photos of the new flowers ect.
or in the autumn go to the forest, or snow in winter ect.
do you have pets? a dog or a cat is great to scrap about.
and i take pictures when bake a cake or eat out .
maybe you read and make a lo of the book you are reding, or favorite tv show/film.
when you do chellenges you can make a monthly page with them like saar is doing, looks great and you can use the challenges in an album

I like your journaling and the strip of paper with all of the question marks.
