How do you handle Mondays?
Not a big fan of Mondays. I hate the weekend being over and having to get up and get back to work at my full time job. Today I'm working from home, though, so at least I have the house to myself I can straighten up a bit after the rest of the fam is out of the house.
I read a suggestion by a Monday hater that she tries to ease into Mondays at work by getting to work bu then lingering over coffee and trying not to really do any hard work until 10 on Monday. I've heard other proponents of the "eat the frog" philosophy who say you should tackle the hardest thing right away to get it off your plate. So, what's your Monday approach? Are you bright-eyed & bushy tailed; energized and ready to go after the weekend or are you still recovering and giving yourself some time to get up to speed? Have you discovered any tricks for making Mondays more bearable? Some days when I'm really dragging, I'll go to Dunkin for coffee instead of making it at home. Just having that tiny"treat" picks me up a bit (not to mention the extra caffeine! ). |

I love Mondays. Everyone goes back to work/school and I have the house to myself again. I look forward to getting back to working

I don't mind Mondays. My kid goes back to school, my husband goes back to work, and the little one (who is the most mellow of the three people I live with!) & I hang out and run errands in between dropoff and pickup for school.

This is such a good question...I treat Monday like it's just another day of the week. I don't schedule nearly as much stuff to do on Monday because I know I'm slower to cross them off my list. Now with school started, I think this Monday went fairly smoothly!! I'm not sure how I approach Monday other than "it's just another day of the week"

No real strategy--as a teacher, I can't tell the kids, "Take it easy on me, it's Monday!" So I guess I'm in the just-another-day-of-the-week camp.

I actually love Mondays! Of course, I don't go into a job, so that influences my feelings. But I'm always super productive on Mondays; it's my grocery day, & it makes me feel like I have accomplished something that will benefit us the rest of the week. I actually kind of hate Saturdays because there's nowhere to go and we're all stuck at home all day and it's so boring.

You guys are way too cheerful about Mondays! I always get a sinking feeling when I wake up on a Monday -- I guess it's a sign that I'm ready to retire.

Monday is just another day though lately I've been having a lot of job interviews on Mondays in another city which means I'm up early and its a long day - I'm out of the house by 8am and sometimes not home til 7pm but its all worth it if I end up with a job......speaking of which I have two job interviews tomorrow (Monday) so I guess as much as I don't love getting up on Mondays, the day has been treating me good lately
