Default Anyone else feel like they are drowning?

Between shopping, gift wrapping, school parties, cookie baking, house cleaning, and my actual work I feel like I am barely keeping afloat. Oh and next week the kids will be home from school and into that extremely hyper, excited for Christmas mood.

I love the holiday season but this year it has snuck up on me and I am not prepared. It has been so busy that I don't get to check into my usual forums. Poor facebook probably thinks I died or my thumbs fell off. I so desperately want to scrap but by the time my day winds down I am wiped out and just go sit on the couch and stare at the tree lights.

I am so looking forward to Christmas Eve. Not only to celebrate the reason but because the craziness will come to an end and I can just relax and enjoy my family.

Ok. That is all. I just needed to whine to other moms because my husband doesn't get it.

YES!!! Especially the house- it's a disaster. Oy. Makes me want to take three personal days to get caught up. But that's not going to happen.

I have been feeling that way all week. Today, we had a play date scheduled that got cancelled cause one of the other kids was sick. So, I had a few extra hours to get stuff done, and I finally feel like I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I still have TONS to do, but at least I feel like it's doable now. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Yes, I'm drowning. We're moving out of state on Jan. 4th or 5th, I just found out two days ago. And I'm sad because our last Christmas in this house is going to be lame.

Yes, Yes, Yes...I can't catch a break from work to even focus on Christmas. I'm so over 12 hour days right now. Looking forward to being off next week and finishing my shopping, wrapping, baking and scrapping. Those are my goals right now.

It isn't even the holidays for me, it's the usual kids and never ending housework. Lauren is at that age where there's no way to keep her away from anything anymore (she can reach the counters, open the closed bins of big-kid toys, etc), and after she spends 30 seconds making a huge mess it takes me 20 minutes to clean it up. Our house looks terrible, I'm stressed, and all I want is some calm and quiet. I have hardly scrapped because I'm so wiped by the time all the kids are asleep. I haven't even managed to get the holiday cards addresed yet.

Yes!!!

& with my DH being unemployed for the last 4 weeks it just adds to the stress. & aided my 'non-motivation' to accomplish anything Christmas or crafty or productive ..

I dove into my projects yesterday & was cutting fabric for about 6 hours straight....that was after making some ornaments & all the other mom things... my plate is overflowing.

*gasp*.... *bubble, bubble*... *gasp*

Seriously... every day I want to wake up and hope it still be November! 9 days out... I'm not done shopping and what I managed to shop for on line last weekend isn't going to be here until the 24th ... darn UPS. My son is pushing the limits of how "trying 3" he can be this week... I haven't even started to DESIGN the Christmas card... the only thing I am keeping up with are my CT assignments and blog postings...

*crossing fingers* for snowstorm on Christmas so no one can make it to our house... is that bad of me to wish for????

Yes, totally. On top of all the usual holiday stress, we have had over 20 inches of snow since last Friday and my husband is working his full time 40 hours a week Monday through Friday job AND operating his own real estate/rental/snow plowing business and it KEEPS SNOWING. My son is in a really difficult stage right now and when I sit down in front of my photoshop, I am so spent I just can't do ANYTHING. I am hoping this passes, SOON! Because I really WANT to scrap, and I have all of these ideas in my head, but I just cannot do it!

I'm drowning in boxes. Boxes and big black garbage bags. We're moving to Ohio on Monday and I truly believe we're nowhere near done packing this place!! I really haven't had time to think about Christmas with all the packing and cleaning we're doing...and did I mention that JP's 11th birthday is tomorrow and we're having the kids from next door over for pizza, dessert and a movie?

I thought I was prepared until I sprained my ankle 1 week ago. Everything went out the window ... sigh ...

I haven't done a bit of shopping, haven't finished decorating the tree, have no idea what we are having for either Christmas dinners and I just got an email from DH on Wed that he needs 39 handmade cards by Monday! Monday? To top all that off we have to take one of my cats to the vet as soon as DH gets home because I think he broke is leg. The funniest thing is that I'm really not even the least bit stressed over any of it except my poor cat and those darn cards.

So with you - I caught the 'flu almost 2 weeks ago and just can't shake it off. I'm soooo behind in everything, and I'm just not in the mood for it either.

Plus DH has borrowed the car again today, so the one lunchdate with a friend I feel like I could drag myself out for has had to be cancelled. He usually rides his motorbike, but its just too icy. I know he's doing the sensible thing but still, I was looking forward to a skinny vanilla latte & a chat

I'm so there. I still have gifts to buy, the budget is so tight it's scary, I haven't wrapped a single gift, and to top it all off, I'm not sleeping worth crap. I love Christmas, but this year I think I will be glad when it's over.

yep...I'm still a headless chicken. My problem is I keep volunteering for stuff because I know others have less time than I do...one day I'll learn.

Add me to that list!!

I have a bit shopping left to do but OH works for UPS and is working so much overtime due to a backlog of parcels which means he is never here to help and won't be here when I need to go out shopping, I can't take the kids with me as the presents are for them and I have no one to look after them for a few hours!

I still need to strip the wallpaper and paint, I wish I hadn't already started stripping it and left it until January and to top it off the kids finish school today until the 6th January and they aren't the most well behaved when in the house together so it's not going to be a nice relaxing time!!

But on a brighter note it's my Birthday tomorrow and I have wine, chocolate cake and chocolates and NO kids as they are going to their Nana's ALL day and night!!
