Default Big Girl Bed...

My DD is 18 months old today..

Well, Over the weekend, she decided that she no longer needed to stay IN her crib, apparently thats WAY Over rated....

So we had no choice but to convert her to a toddler bed ( her crib converts) but this is like 6 month earlier then I was wanting to move her.....

She is really sick and hasnt been sleeping, but I thought i would try last night, for the 1st time in her big girl bed........

AND....

She came out once to kiss her daddy night night, (since she didnt do that while throwing the fit on the way to bed..... )then she just walked back in and closed her door....

I went in after her, assuming i'd have to make her get in bed and she was laying down and never got up!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!

Im so proud, but im crossing fingers that wasnt a one night fluke!!!

I'm so jealous! I hope your easy transition continues. We switched my 2.5 year old DS a couple of weeks ago, and it has not gone smoothly. A few times a night he gets out of bed and heads over to wake up his older brother to play. (DS1 is not amused.) Once he's up he stays up for a couple of hours no matter what we try.

YAY!! What a big girl!! That is awesome!! Libby did the same thing when she converted to her big girl bed. We still don't have to worry about her staying in bed - it's just something she does!! I'm so happy about that!!

Landen's crib converts to a toddler bed, but at 4 he still wants his crib-and we let him be our guide, he has a daybed in his room also, with all of his cool Superman bedding, but he won't even nap on it...LOL
Congrats on the easy transition.

Woohoo! Mine have all transitioned very easily too - I hope #3 decides to do the same when it comes that time for him.

Hope she does that well again for you tonight!

oh i hope she stays this way.
the little one i nanny is a monkey.. and a.. how do i put it... not the best kid on the block.. lol she is 23 months and about two months ago started to climb out of her crib and open her door and get into EVERYTHING... so they convereted her crib to a toddler bed and then put baby locks on the door. she has broken 3 so far!! she sits there and tanks on the door, kicks, screams, hits whatever else you can think of until she finally falls asleep either on the floor or finally in her bed. it takes up to 45 min sometimes! its insane

Thank you! Reading all the 'mine were so easy' responses was starting to make me think everyone at SSD has superhuman kids, LOL. Luckily I have a few friends struggling through the crib to bed transition right now, so I have plenty of opportunities to commiserate IRL.
