RQOTD: What's your middle name?
I haven't posted a Random Question of the Day in a while, and I'm bored today, so here goes:
- what is you middle name? - does it have some family meaning? - are you happy with it? [NOTE: I'm just asking whether you like it as YOUR middle name -- no offense to anyone who may have this name!] My middle name is Pauline. I have never liked it -- it's a "girl" version of my father's middle name, Paul -- which seems like a cop-out to me in the name selecting department. |

It was Lynn. No particular meaning to it. It was supposed to be Renee, but a sil "stole" it from my mom .
When I married, I dropped Lynn and used my maiden name (Taylor) as my middle name. |

- what is you middle name?
Ann - does it have some family meaning? Nope, actually I just realize it is also my mom's middle name but I don't know if she gave it to me because of that or if she just couldn't think of any other name  - are you happy with it? Eh, I don't love it and I don't hate it but I do think it fit with my first name and my maiden name and flowed well!!!

what is your middle name? Anne
- does it have some family meaning? Not family meaning but I think it was after a nun that my family knew. I'm going to have to ask my parents now b/c I'm not for sure on this! - are you happy with it? Yup. I like that it has an "e" at the end of it. Just a tad different. |

- what is you middle name? Rachelle
- does it have some family meaning? Well, it's the name of the woman my birth father was cheating on my mom with when she had me.... - are you happy with it? No. It used to be decent, until I pried (my mother never would tell me what it was, until I was in college and had asked again and again)... now that I know the true meaning, I hate it. At first, I was meh about it. Now I just hate it.

No special meaning that I know of. I like that it is spelled differently. I actually gave DD1 the same middle name. |

My middle name is Sue.
I was named (first & middle name) after my mom's cousin & bff who died when she was 20 years old. My mom's middle name is also Sue, but I was named after her cousin. I think it fits perfect with my first name, Debra Sue. or Debbie Sue. & I love that I was named after someone so special to my mom. So, yes, I love it! |

- what is you middle name? Ann-Marian
- does it have some family meaning? Yes and no. My mother picked Ann as my middle name to give me a "normal" name option should I decide Leila was too out there. It's a little plain, but when put next to Leila, it's just right. I added Marian legally when Andrew and I married in 2002. It has family meaning as it's my favorite aunt's name and I took it as my confirmation name at 13...when I was still Catholic. My aunt actually calls me Marian now, something I love since it's our thing. - are you happy with it? [NOTE: I'm just asking whether you like it as YOUR middle name -- no offense to anyone who may have this name!] I am. I don't see any reason to be unhappy with either name. So here's a little haha middle name story that relates to Kristine's lack of such. My FIL has the same thing going on; in his family, it's tradition for the first born male to receive ALL of his uncles' first names as middle names. So Andrew's uncle has about seven middle names and FIL has none. Anyway, when Dad came to the US from Germany 40+ years ago, he started filling in the word none for middle name on forms. Fast forward a few years and Dad's suddenly getting mail addressed to Dieter Nunn S. Forty plus years after that, he's still trying to convince people that he doesn't have a middle name at all. |

Lea (pronounced Lee). I think it's just a random name my parents came up with to throw with my name. I don't give it much thought, really.

My middle name is May, and I love it. It's a tradition passed down on my mom's side of the family. The first born girl has the middle name of May. So my mom, grandma, and her grandma were all the first born girl, and all have the middle name of May. When I get to have a girl (fingers crossed I have a girl eventually anyway) her middle name will be May as well, and I LOVE that.
Now I just have to convince Jordan that Ella May Swerbinsky is the PERFECT name for our as-yet-to-be-conceived little girl :P (He hates it, LOL!)

Nicole. No special meaning, Mom just thought it sounded good with Tracy.
I've always liked it and even went through a phase in jr. high where I wanted everyone to call me Nikki so I started writing it on all my papers and notes. Needless to say here I am, Tracy...it never quite caught on.

Same middle name as my mom. Love it. Wish I could pass it along but it never worked with the boy names we picked out. And I never had that girl.

Mine is Lenore which of course was perfectly fine until I got married. At that point in time my name became Jessica Lenore Knorr If my maiden name was better I would have just kept my last name as a middle name but it was Herbert so that does not sound any better. Im just stuck with it I guess so when I fill out paperwork I eitehr leave my middle name out or I just put L.

I was named after my mother, who was named after a poem. I didn't particularly love it, but I didn't hate it. My maiden name flows much better with my married name anyway

- what is you middle name?
Ann - does it have some family meaning? Nope - are you happy with it? [NOTE: I'm just asking whether you like it as YOUR middle name -- no offense to anyone who may have this name!] NO...just because 1. My first name ends in A and my middle name starts with A, I don't like the way it flows. and 2. it's boring. So, I cared more about the flow uniqueness when giving my children middle names. My kids' middle names aren't WEIRD or anything...but they aren't as commonplace as Ann. Colton, Alexis and Samuel were what I chose |

Mine is Catherine. It is one of my great grandmother's middle names. My first name is also the middle name of one of my other great grandmother's. I believe the names were Mary Elizabeth and Eugenia Catherine. I was almost Mary Eugenia. I don't really think about my middle name much but I like how it flows with my first name, I just wish it wasn't so long.

Mine is also Lynn and for much of my childhood I had two names like people named Mary Sue, Mary Beth, Sally Jo etc... My mom's name is Mary Carol and I was Stacey Lynn for most of two decades.
Which was useful since I was generally one of at least 3 Staceys in my class. I prefer just Stacey because "Stacey Lynn" conjurs up memories of nuns repremanding me for various offenses in class. It's ok as a middle name. I liked it enough to keep it rather than dropping it for my maiden name when I married |

My grandfather's name was Alouise, but the nurses at the hospital couldn't spell such a thick German name, so on his birth certificate he was named Always. We actually didn't know that about him until shortly after he passed on!

Ha ha, mine is Lyn too. Oddly enough, dh's middle name is Lynn so we gave our firstborn the middle name Lyn too. We couldn't agree on which was the "right" way to spell it so we decided if we had a boy it would be Lynn and for a girl it would be Lyn. I won.
I've always liked my middle name. It's certainly not unique but it works well with my first name. But the funny thing is that my parents were obviously not very creative in the name department and they gave my younger sister the middle name Lyn too. I asked my mom why in the world they would have done that and she said well, we liked it and it sounded good with her first name so we decided to go with it. Weirdos. lol

Ann - does it have some family meaning? Well, my grandma wanted me to be named Polly Anna, so my folks compromised and named me Paula Ann - are you happy with it? [NOTE: I'm just asking whether you like it as YOUR middle name -- no offense to anyone who may have this name!] Considering the story behind my name - yes, I love it. I think Ann is such a pretty name that I named my oldest daughter Hannah. |

Lee.
It was my Granny's middle name as well. She was a very special lady. I do like it, mostly because it was Granny's too. Now for an odd middle name...My hubbys parents are kinda back in the woods type. When DH was born, FIL wanted to name him R H (as in first name R middle name H) ....but they were told he had to have an actual fisrt name. So he has an actual first name but his middle name is H that's it... his brother's is R. So their initals are RH & HR, oddly enough, my FIL is an R & MIL is an H.

I don't have a middle name either. The tradition in my mother's family was for the girls to not be given a middle name at birth and then to take their maiden name as their middle name when they married. She wasn't given a middle name, and she didn't give one to my sister or I. I always wanted to have a middle name, and thought about adding one when I married. However, the combination of my first name and my new last name was 21 letters and I figured that I probably didn't have room to add an initial on the check signing line =) It has turned out to be a good decision. My name takes forever to sign .....

- what is you middle name?
Anne... with an "e" - does it have some family meaning? No... at least not that I'm aware of, I should ask. - are you happy with it? I wish is had a link... I like to think it was after my great grandma who's name was Anna... but Rebecca doesn't have any meaning either. From what I was told, my folks didn't have a girl name picked and my dad liked how Becky Kobiske (maiden name). If I were a boy... I'd have the name of Jed... thank goodness I'm a girl.... LOL!!! So... I wanted to make sure that my kiddo's name has meaning... number two boy choice for me was Jake... and also name starts with J, important for boys in my family... and David, for a middle name, is my hubby's name... a tradition in his family, first boy child named after the father...

- does it have some family meaning? Nope - are you happy with it? Meh, it's okay. It sounds more like a little kid name though. The only time I ever really have a problem with it is when I have to tell it to someone and they think I am just giving the initial. "No, it's K-A-Y!" |

I never used to really care for it until I went by Dawn for a little while. Hmm this will probably come as a surprise to some ... only those with a DUH brain ... ... my middle name is Kay!
LOL the reason I was given the middle name of Kay is because mom was called by her middle name (Sue ... they called her Susie) ... and she didn't want me being called by a nickname....thus Sharon with the middle name of Kay ... and I have been called "Sharon" (just like she wanted) all my life. I'm fine with it ... it works for me ... and fits as a unique user name in all the scrapbooking forums and stores I have ever been on. LOL

My middle name is Marye (pronounced like Marie)
I love it! It's meaning is that my Mom's middle name is Marie so, my parents wanted me to have her middle name. Yet, with my first name being Jeanye (pronounced Genie) my Mom wanted my middle name to flow with the "y" continued in my middle name. Thus..."i" was replaced with a "y". I have since named my oldest daughter after me, giving her the name Alyssa Marye. She has already proclaimed that she has every intention of giving her daughter the "family name".
