Wordpress and Flickr Question
I haven't found a photo program that I like for Wordpress. Someone on the 365 posted photos using Flickr. Is that easy to do on a blog? How about a private blog? I made my Flickr settings private, but not sure how that works with the blog once they are signed in.
Thanks! |

I just upload photos through Wordpress and don't use an external site to host them.

I do that for individual pictures. If I have an album with 10 pictures, I would like 1 picture to show, click to see a gallery open up.
I've found some nice galleries, but don't have the technical skills to install them. |

I wouldn't advise using a gallery application like Gallery2 or the like with your WordPress blog. It's just too complicated to install and configure.
Flickr is a great option and you can find many plugins that allow you to showcase your Flickr sets in your WordPress sidebar. I find it more than worth the annual fee because they save full resolution copies of all of my images. If you don't currently have self-hosted WP installed and are starting fresh with a blog, you might consider using Typepad. I think I saw that Traci has a gallery all set up with her new Typepad blog. I believe its already integrated or easy to do so.

Do you know of a slideshow feature? I guess that's what I meant. I want to be about to show all my Christmas pictures under a post without having 50 in the post.
I use hostgator. I was using a website, but liked the automated features of a blog for archives etc. I don't have hours to spend trying to learn and figure it out. I did set up Flickr. I just need to figure out what to do. I really want pictures under my post. I bought a month on lynda.com, but it doesn't have enough info or 2.9. The media part is very basic. |

Big Huge Labs allows you to create a slideshow or a collage and embed it in your blog post. It integrates with your Flickr account and will give you code to put in your post.

Thanks. I'll look into that. I haven't had luck getting Flickr to connect with my blog. In all the trying, now I can't even upload images to my blog. Not sure what's going on or how to fix that issue.

That would be great if you don't mind! I need to buy the book Wordpress for Dummies. Lynda.com hasn't helped me this time.

I do have a photobucket account. Do you just insert the URL from photobucket into your post?
I took a look at your blog. Are those photos from photobucket? Can you use a slideshow from photobucket to put into your post? Thanks! |

I don't have wordpress however I use Flickr to host my photos. You can also create a slideshow of your Flickr photos (if they are public) at http://www.flickrslideshow.com/ and embed it in your post. They give you the html code after you create the slideshow.
