Default The Black List

Do any of you watch the Black List?

I just binged 8 seasons over the past few months with my supper, there are only 8 season's on Netflix, and came away totally confused as to who Reddington is to Keen.

Then I heard from a co-worker who watches that he is her mother. What?? I totally missed any clue that lead to that, so if you watch it and know something, fill me in. Please, cause I don't get how he went from being something of a ladies man to a lady. There are some traditionally feminine habits Red has, but in today's modern world, that doesn't mean much, so what did I miss?

As you can tell it is driving me a little crazy because I feel really obtuse.

I've watched a few seasons... I go in little spurts, because I like it for a bit and then I get annoyed and turn it off for a while. I think I'm in season 3 or 4 now. And how does a "he" become her mom???

Crap, Nat! I am sorry if I spoiled anything for you. It's just a theory from the fans, the show has not said what the relationship is, but after watching 8 seasons, I feel like I wasn't paying attention, ya know? Of course, I have been known to nap during TV watching, so maybe this is my own version of "while you were sleeping." LOL

Honestly, I thinking is bugging me because I am very literal and get teased a lot for missing things that are not in black and white. Inside jokes, innuendos, etc. are not my strong suit. And of course my workmate is "like how could you not see it" which is just hitting that button for me.

I have watched all of it up until this season. I always forget that it is on Personally I don’t think Raymond is her mother but I guess that is up to the writers

LOL no worries. I probably won't finish watching it anyway. I figure if I was going to watch it, I would have by now. Just trying to wrap my head around Raymond being the mom... I'm guessing he was a she and had an operation???

I watch it, but we haven't watched all of this seasons episodes yet. I get really annoyed with it too, and wish they would just spell it out. They've had so many back stories and scenarios, that I forget what is what. And of course, we've been watching it for years, so you forget things that have happened. I have not ever seen the theory that he is her mom though. Not sure that makes sense to me.

We watched it until the season when he shot the cleaner and left her for dead. I'm not one for violence and I couldn't really take it anymore. I also felt like they kept dragging us down rabbit holes that never made any sense.

I've watched most of it... I think I'm halfway through season 5... haven't watched for over a year. I don't remember ever coming across a suggestion about him being her mom ... my thinking is he could be her dad. Who knows??? At some stage I will watch more but it is pretty violent and my hubby can't handle that so I have to watch it on my own.

I've watched the whole thing. I don't think Red is her mother. I love the show and at the same time it annoys the heck out of me that they have never given a full and proper answer to that relationship.

I stopped watching in a few years back. It was never the same after Tom was killed. My daughter watched it recently and caught me up and it felt like a huge stretch. I imagine this happens when different writers come and go throughout a shows lifespan and that there wasn't an over-arching story line created intentionally from the beginning. A little like the Mentalist, where we watched for years and years and then when Red John was revealed, it was such a damp squib and totally not believable.

I loved the Mentalist too. Watched it for years and enjoyed the way they wrapped everything up with an actual ending.

Exactly! I watched it diligently for I think 3 seasons and quit watching it because of this.

Sounds like I need to try The Mentalist!
