A little update on Keira
Keira got her pathology result back, Stage 2, with a 94-97% cure rate! She'll have to do 18 weeks of chemo, it'll be everything Thursday, and hopefully everything will good and finished before she starts Kindergarten in September.
Their biggest concern is she might need radiation too, neither of our oncologists seem to think that she does, but next week I guess they're having a tumor conference with lots of other services and they'll talk about her case. I'm praying she doesn't need radiation, so, please say a prayer or two for her. Looks like our chemo will be one of the easier ones that they do. Thank god. I'm so nervous about taking her home, all the things that could go wrong. Makes me sick to my stomach. I know we'll make it through, but ugh, its so much to deal with in less than a week. Thanks to everyone that's been thinking of us. We all really appreciate it.

that's such good news that her cure rate is that high - I'm sure this whole things has been incredibly stressful. Thinking of your family!

Definitely in my prayers. It is a lot to digest. The good news is that God will give you the grace you need each day in this process. I am happy to hear it is such a high success rate with treatment! What a blessing!

Defenitely keeping you all in my thoughts!! I know when your kiddos are sick you just want to make it better for them. So I know going through something like this has to be hard as heck!!

HUGE HUGS Vanessa! I know some of the feelings that you are experiencing right now - my nephew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 2.5 and it was the hardest thing my family has ever had to deal with, even when his success rate was also in the high 90's. It's still a huge roller-coaster of emotions, and that won't go away as long as she's sick.
Please remember that we are all here for you if you ever need a hug or just to cry... keep your chin up! Children are amazingly strong and resilient! She will probably amaze you!
