Default 1 y/o girl presents...

I need some ideas for smaller presents..like in the 10-20 dollar range. Ella's getting the Laugh and Learn Home as her big gift and I've picked up a few other things for her but I'm having a hard time with smaller things...like it seems every toy for her age is just "look at me, I light up and make noise" which she likes for about 5 minutes and then she's on to something else kwim? I need some ideas...

This would be good for boy or girl:

http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-D...9789064&sr=8-1

We got it for lucas just before he turned one, it is adorable!

There is a cute purse one too:

hmm can't get the image for the purse one to work right.

I'm a big fan of melissa & doug toys.. wish I would have known about them when Lily was a baby

No batteries = happy momma!

haha

Madelyn LOVES her purse

and she's not one for bells and whistles. She loves the noises it makes when it zips and the fact that it sings to her.

What about a shopping cart? I got one for Madelyn for Christmas that came with some plastic food. That'd kinda fit the whole theme for her house

Mya turns two this weekend, here are some things she has enjoyed over the past year.
  • her brothers cars and trains (we got her a couple she could claim as her own)
  • Board books with interactive features (pop up, lift-the-flap, textures, etc.)
  • Dress-up things - floppy hats, feather boas, tiara
  • blocks and duplo legos
  • play silks
  • musical instruments
  • large soft plush ball

I would love ideas too! Emily will be 9 months old and we have some things, but I just can't seem to find anything that we can't live without. We have all of DS's toys, so she already has a lot that she can play with, but I want some things that are hers.

How about Little People, we got Lexi the airplane and she loves it and so do her sisters. They've been fighting over it all day (she got it yesterday for her birthday)

the bus is cool too

She loves to put the people in and out.

My Mom got this for Kelsie's first Christmas and it was a huge hit! Kelsie was 9mo and Kaylie was 3 and they both loved it and played with it constantly. Kyle also played with it until just recently when we took it over to my Dad's house for the younger baby cousins to play with at Grandpa's house!

We have the older version that was out a few years ago that was Avery's and he STILL plays with it..it has definitely been the toy he's played with the longest so I'm hoping this one will be too.

I need Hanukkah and birthday presents for Lauren, and I'm having a hard time too since we have so much already. I'll confess, I'm planning to wrap up some toddler toys that have been in the basement since Ben finished with them. They're new to Lauren! I'm buying some girly toys, but the rest of it we already have.

I've bought or am planning to buy:
Little People Doll House (similar to this)
a purse (maybe the one shown earlier in the thread?) or another filled bag (this one?)

Old favorites that I'm rewrapping:
corn popper/push toy
bug house (probably an earlier version of this)
music push toy

Some other 1-year old hits at our house:
baby doll
ride ons
the BIG mega blocks (my 6 and 3 year olds will still play with these)
books with flaps, mirrors, and pictures of babies
musical cube (I just noticed the price on this--what?! I don't know how much my mother paid for ours, but it was nowhere near $90!)
Ball pound toy
Parents keys and cell phone (also available separately)

Claire got the Leapfrog table for her birthday and she looooves it!! She also has the purse...she thinks it's okay right now...she loves it when it sings and she adores the lipstick that comes with it, lol!! She's also got the little toy cell phone and it's by far been one of her favorite toys ever!! We got Claire this for Christmas....our Target had it on sale tonight for $25....I know it's not too small, but maybe something that she would like? I think C will love it.

Ok, that Leap Frog musical table you're getting her for her birthday is a great choice! My mom got one of those for my son when he was a baby and he played with it for about 2 years!!! Then we put it away for a while, and well it's back out again for the baby but he won't give her any time with it! All he wants to do is play with that thing!!!

And I was going to suggest My Pal Violet! We got it for our little girl for Christmas this year and it's so cute!!! I love how it can learn your child's name and then spells it! So cute!!!

Oh that is cute!!

and I think that little cell phone is probably going to be Ella's favorite...my cell phone is just an old pink nokia and she is OBSESSED with it...whenever she gets her hands on it she holds it up like she's talking and just chatters away..and she loves to "dial" it lol
