We don't do zombie at our house, for the most part. At least the horrible horror versions. But we have seen Zombieland (hilarious) and Shaun of the Dead (even more hilarious). But that's as far as zombie stuff goes for me.
However, Russ has me listening to The Zombie Survival Guide right now and insists I read/listen to World War Z before it comes out in June (though I don't see me seeing it). We're not even 10 min into the book and already I'm arguing with every direction they've taken on Walking Dead about how these folks have survived - all that gore should already have them infected LOL (as if this stuff were real!) It's the conundrum I have with Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - the book was awesome..the movie? I'm not sure I can handle the ick factor. I just wish they'd do Pride & Prejudice & Zombies - it's stalled. |

I agree... now that we know it's viral & airborne, how is it possible they can come in contact with the zombies bodies (pushing them away physically), their blood & guts (spraying on their skin), and not turn? It doesn't exactly make sense. But then again, the idea of zombies is pretty much stretching reality to begin with.

It sounds like the fungus has control of the ant until it finds a better place to be able to settle and release spores, etc. So for a little while, the ant is 'zombiefied' and then dies.

That poor zombie ant!
The guy in the article is worried that we might not have the chance to discover all of the zombie-creating fungi by the time deforestation wipes out the forest? This might be one time I've voting for deforestation. |

Ok, so can we discuss the lady that saved Andrea? It looks to me like she had 2 zombie slaves who were armless. Did they have their mouths covered, too? I can guess that they are of some use to her. And, without arms or their mouths, they are no danger to her. But why walk around with them? Do they protect her somehow? Or do they lead her to non-zombie people somehow since that is their nature to hunt down live prey??? I am soooo curious.

Brooke - you're delving into sneaks for the new season. I'm purposefully not reading ahead on forums or being tempted by the comics right now LOL. All I know is that it looks like they're all moving to a prison

I watched the finale with my oldest son last night. My son was like oh this has got to be a "sexy Asian lady" Maybe it was the Katana that made him think it will be. Also the slave zombie thing is an excellent idea. I think some how other zombies leave you alone if you have zombies by you. If you noticed during one of the scenes when they were going to drop off that guy 18 miles out that one of the dead zombies was laying on top of Rick when they were all popping out of the building and they left him alone. Who knows though it all seems random at times.
My thoughts tend to go toward Lori's Baby though. Is it going to come out a Zombie?!

The lady with the hood is Michonne. Supposedly, she's a favorite in the comic series. I read some forum discussions and they said Season 3 will be where it's kinda divides between the comic series and those of us who just watch the tv series. The two zombies on her side are her boyfriend and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) her or his best friend.
I'm so annoyed with Lori and even more so with her reaction to Rick's news. I'm glad he finally stood up. I am also annoyed with Carol. Can't wait for Season 3!!

Yeah that was the scene where I think you as the viewer and Rick as her husband realizes that it was more than just a 1 night stand with Shane and that she really did love him.
I am super annoyed with their kid though. He's going to get killed or get someone killed if he doesn't grow up and FAST!

My DH has read the comic book series and told me she was in the comics. I still don't know the exact purpose of her keeping those zombies with her... it's interesting!! Not sure if I can wait until season 3 to find out when I know the answers to my questions are in those comic books. I'm thinking I should read them!!! I don't need season 3 to be a complete surprise, in fact, it would help me to know a few spoilers. Maybe I could actually watch an entire episode without dying from suspense.

I've heard it was something of a coping mechanism for her and that she actually stills talks to them. But I haven't read the comics so don't quote me! lol

I did watch one of the cast videos at AMC and the actress who plays Lori said that her marriage to Rick is going to go through some major strife in season 3 - both of them coming to grips with the reality of their personal situation, I'm sure.

Does anyone watch The Talking Dead that comes on after the show airs? They showed who is going to play Michonne in the show next fall.

Alright. I admit it. I watch this show! LOL! That is HUGE for me because I am the biggest baby when it comes to blood and gore or anything scary. But DH convinced me to try it and I watch most of it cringing through my fingers LOL! Or I look away until DH says its safe! But its seriously addicting for me LOL. Its one of the few shows that really gets me thinking and leaves me with lots of questions I want to talk about! The finale was seriously CRAZY LOL! I was not expecting anything like that! I am really curious to see where the next season will go now that they are finally off the farm!

Those of you on FB - you do know that there is now a walking dead social game, right? It's not a prettied up version of a game. And it's got a super-weird way of attaching your friends as zombies...but Russ and I are hooked. This is NOTHING like any game I would normally choose to play in a million years, but I'm sure it'll be fun for the weekend LOL

I feel like I need to watch it again.
BUT...awesome. The melancholy of Rick's group is just so...depressing. That very first scene - everyone is not talking, Carl is searching for food...I mean they are an amazing group and VERY efficient, but I was just so depressed for them. And they way Rick pushed to get into the prison without resting for a day or two, totally put into perspective what the winter probably was like for them. Constantly on the run. No rest. They all just look weary. The dynamic between Lori and Rick. He hates her, she hates him. I can't wait til that baby is born. But what a horrible fake belly on Lori. And the END. Now - if zombies don't feed on humans, will they starve? Will they go into a comatose state? Why was that zombie on the ground to get Hershel? And that last scene. The chaos. The fact that NO ONE was like, "Dude, stop!" to Rick and they all just reacted to getting Hershel help and aid... CRAZY. Andrea and Michonne seemed like such an after thought in that episode. I don't like Andrea anyways and I have more questions with Michonne than any answers that episode gave me. All I know is that show always ends with me yelling out "What the..." or a "WHAAAAAA?" Anyone else?

Eh. I must admit... I was kinda bored with it. We only made it halfway through the episode (when Lori is talking to Hershel about the baby). But maybe that's because we watched Dexter first & were tired?? I think the jail is a great idea, but crazy... there's got to be hundreds of walkers inside! It makes me nervous that they could get trapped in there. What was unbelievable to me is that the Prison Guard zombies don't have any weapons on them for the survivors to pick up and use (and none on the floor in the areas where they were present)... if they did have weapons when they turned zombie, they would be by them or at least nearby? I know they are low on ammo, but to me, there should be weapons in the areas where the guards are, or in the look-out towers. I'm really looking forward to the story line with Michonne... she seems to know her stuff with that sword of hers!!!
Anyways, I think it was good! |

(psst, Brook - you need to watch the rest of the episode to have your questions answered).
I don't like Lori. I'm ready for her to be gone (as well as Carol). And yes - what a fake belly that was. They've watched members be bitten, die, and turn. They've also watched members die and turn. I think Rick just reacted the best he could - hoping to save Herschel before the first scenario got him. If they can stop the infection from spreading and killing him - he can still live, though handicapped, which may or may not be a life he loves. But why would you send your only medical person (with someone about to deliver a baby) into a dangerous situation like that? And why would you go into those dark places searching...by hand...<shrug> I get that they're pretty desperate, at this point, I just don't think I'd let Herschel go on all the dangerous raids. They just need to clone TJ and Daryl. It was incredibly depressing - thus boring. Michonne and Andrea just needed to be set up, though I think a little more explanation about them was warranted. What has gotten Andrea so sick when most viruses are probably pretty dormant at this time, though her body is surely worn out and can't fight even small stuff. And Stephanie - zombies don't die. lol. But remember the very end? It may be one reason why the zombies could feed - thinning out those #'s. That zombie on the ground was just resting. Herschel wasn't paying attention. |
