Default Cricut Vinyl party favor question

I'm working on some ideas for my DD's 10th B-day. I think I'd like to make some personalized water bottles for the girls as a party favor. Can I cut vinyl with the Cricut and have it stick to the water bottles? Is there anything tricky about cutting vinyl I should know?

Is there something else that might work better?

I'm trying to make something like this:

I have worked with vinyl before...I was scared that it would be very tricky but if you follow the instructions included with the vinyl to a t you wont have any problems. When you cut your vinyl its important not to cut through the backing so always do a test run first to ensure your settings are correct. Then after you have cut it you remove the excess. You will use transfer tape to apply the images to the water bottles.

I actually have a tutorial here:

Thanks Mari!

Do you think the vinyl will fall off if the bottles start to sweat on the outside?

If you use Oracle 651 vinyl you should be ok. I have glasses with it on that have gone through the dishwasher and they still look brand new! It is the outdoor vinyl. Cricut brand vinyl is not Oracle 651, I believe that is Oracle 631 indoor vinyl. Hope that helps!

Indoor or outdoor vinyl should be okay. If you want to be extra sure...the thinner the vinyl, the more expensive, the longer lasting it will be. However, I would think the vinyl would last longer than the actual water bottle.

Okay so where do I find outdoor vinyl that will cut with the Cricut? Is this some kind of special order kind of thing? Do you think it's cheaper just to order the water bottles already made from someone else?
