So I have a question.. when you get a kit do you like it when the flowers come without the centers already on (buttons.. gems etc) or do you prefer to have them in the kit separate so you can customize how you wish. I usually do my previews showing flowers with centers but i usually leave them naked in the kit so they can be done themselves but i wonder which way is preferred.

I will say to some degree it depends what I'm doing. Flowers I tuck behind photos, I like to be naked. Flowers that go on top, I like to be finished. I CAN finish them, sure... but I think they look better when you do.
But I prefer finished.

NEKKID!
that way I can customize them and make endless combinations. Assuming we get cool bits to put in the center that is, LOL! |

nekkid for the most part... i'm a big element tucker, so sometimes big honkin center blobs make for grumpy. Though- an occassional tiny gem is ok.. occassional

I am an element tucker too, but I like a good mixture of nekkid and all done

I like naked...sometimes when designers put the centres on the flowers the shadowing doesn't match my shadows. I'd prefer to be able to move my flowers around, flipping them around and then apply the gem shadow so it all matches direction.

I voted naked because I love to add what I like - sometimes I add buttons, sometimes brads, sometimes I even stack flowers.

I like them both ways for different things. Sometimes the predone ones just are quicker to use. But it's also nice to mix-it up a bit. I often do a LO with only 2 of the colors in the kit, so naked gives me the flexibility to limit the color scheme.
I love to find a kit that has a fun unusual twist on a flower too!

I like it both ways. LOL! Am I allowed to say that?? If I had to choose, I'd say nekkid though, but have some stacked examples in the preview so I can visualise their potential.

This. I cannot have naked flowers on my page unless the center is covered by something else, but sometimes I like to add something different to the centers (like a bow, rather than a button, etc)

I voted naked but as long as there is something in the kit that can cover up the nekkidness.

Another vote for both! Sometimes I'm just too lazy to assemble them myself, other times I really need naked ones in my layering.

Well, sometimes I don't like the choices for centers when they come nekkid, and it irritates me. However, I've never been annoyed by the centers on predone flowers. So I guess I feel pickier when they're nekkid, and when they're finished, I'm just happy to copy and plop.

I think you have a great combo of both in a lot of yours Kristin (or all?).
I sometimes have shadow issues, but I am also too lazy at times to put them together myself.... so in the end, I prefer finished ones. |

lol.. sigh. well the poll is now mostly even so i guess doing a mix of both is the best solution
![]() its no wonder why we designers often seem so confused :P |

I voted predone ... but you KNOW how OFTEN I use flowers ... I think I am jinxed...I went to do a layout with a couple of flowers on it the other day and CS3 shut down on me. See it's not just me ... I think my laptop doesn't like using flowers. lol Maybe not only am I married to a male, but have 3 sons and a male dog ... maybe my laptop is a male too???
