Default trying to upload to the gallery

I always save my LO's at 600 x 600 pixels and as a jpeg file. I've just gone to add a LO and it's telling me it exceeds the size limit.

Anyone else having trouble?

ok I've looked at it and for some reason it's saved as 305kb & the limit is 150kb. I've never had an issue before and I have no idea how to reduce the kb size.

it also has to be under 150 KB. I use Paint Shop Pro so I could tell you how to save and have it be under 150 KB on it but it is a little different then PS and PSE. Which program are you using to make your layouts?

I'm using gimp (it was free and recommended to me by a friend)

I've looked at previous LO's and they've saved at around 60kb

ok well maybe you can adapt this to GIMP because I have never used it.

I go to resize my layout and enter 72 DPI. Then on the dimensions I enter 600x600. After that I click ok. Then I go to save for web and it gives me the option to slide the bar from 1-20 and that will decrease the size of the file while still keeping the layout looking somewhat sharp. Once I get under 150 KB I click ok then it prompts me to save the layout. I name the layout and choose where I want it saved and click ok.

Is there a save for web option on your program somewhere? Mine is under:

FILE-EXPORT-JPG OPTIMIZER

Hope someone who uses/used GIMP can help you out with that particular program.

I usually save mine at 500x500 for upload here, that way they always come out small enough. Hope you got it resolved!
