Default Happy Australia Day

January 26th is our equivalent to 4th July.

Sunshine, swimming, BBQ and booze, can't get more Aussie than that

We've got a couple of friends arriving in an hour to celebrate. The sun is warming up and we're heading for a very hot day.

Happy Australia Day!

Unfortunately our friends cancelled their BBQ, cause she is not well So we are staying home. Hubby is just checking if we can get some of our favourite marinated lamb at our local butcher but I am guessing he is closed. I wish they had told us a tad earlier so I could have organized something yesterday. If we cannot have the lamb we will have yummo burritos, not so aussie, haha!

It is not getting as hot here as they predicted but it will still be warm enough to have a swim in our pool. Just enjoying the day with hubby and kids before they start school on Thursday. Sigh my little boy is starting prep... my baby!!!

Happy Australia Day! We are acknowleding the day just by ourselves.

We made lamingtons and the boys had vegemite samies for lunch (which is nothing special). We are having a Barbie for dinner and definitely hot enough to swim in the pool.

mmm. vegemite samies! yumo. nothing better on fresh white bread.

We didnt do much. Bit of DIY around the house stuff and let the kiddo swim in his pool. I had a lovely nana nap after being up half the night with the baby who doesnt deal with the heat too well. There were heaps of events and stuff on near our place, but we just couldnt bear the thought of draggin the baby out when its so hot.

Happy Australia Day! We went to the beach for a swim before lunch, headed home for a BBQ lunch and then out with friends for a picnic tea and to watch the fireworks - a great day. And for once the weather was perfect - usually Australia Day seems to be one of the hottest days of summer lol!

A belated Happy Australia Day!! We had a great day. Our neighbours organised a BBQ and a swim at there place. Weather was gloriously hot, so the kids swam as the adults hopped in the spa and had a few chardonays!!
