Have You Seen The Movie "August Rush"?

It's DH and I's 7th anniversary on Sunday, and unfortunately with all the other things I've taken time off for, I couldn't take this weekend off. So, I have to work, but LUCKILY...I only work 9-6 on Saturday, which means that if I hurry after work, I can get home to shower...and DH and I can drive to the city for a late movie (and maybe dinner, depending on what time the movie is).

Anyhow, so I'm looking at what is playing in the theaters...and the only movie sticking out at me that I might actually want to see is August Rush. Have any of you seen it?

I'm trying to decide if we should just skip celebrating this year altogether, or what. If there is something decent playing, I wouldn't mind going for dinner & a movie, but if not, we'll just stay home.

Most years we drop the kids off with DH's parents for the weekend and we go stay in the city in a nice hotel...shop, go see movies, shop some more...but it's out of the question this year (since we just went and stayed 2 nights in a VERY expensive hotel for Mason's "end of chemo" party on Nov 25-27). Most years we do gifts as well, but again, this year it's out because of how much we spent on a 3-day party, lol.

Anyway, what do you think about the movie...if you've seen it, did you like it? If you've seen the previews/trailers for it, did it look good? I haven't seen ANYTHING for the movie, but the plot sounds interesting...just looking for some feedback...

I did see Enchanted with the kids and it was SOOOO GOOD but not sure just you and hubby wanna see that lol

The Golden compass (with nicole kidman) and Dirty Laundry start on Friday..(mind you I have NO idea what either movie are about)

I don't think Dirty Laundry is playing in any theaters here...Atonement is supposed to be out this weekend too, but isn't playing, either...

What about "Awake" with Jessica Alba and Hayden Christiansen...it looked creepy on the preview I saw, but it could be good...maybe? LOL!

ohhhhh i heard Awake was great..that's the one where he wakes up during surgery and hears a plot to murder him? or something like that

Yeah, the anaesthetic doesn't take, so he's awake and aware of what's happening, but paralyzed from the anaesthetic. Apparently it's a common occurance, which is REALLY scary (not the part about them plotting to murder him, but the anaesthetic not taking properly).

I think August Rush looks really good. Not sure about Awake - although if I was gonna see it, I would go with my boyfriend not by myself.

It does look good, although creepy. Last night on one of the news shows they had a doctor quoted as saying that that type of thing is extremely rare, but then they gave a statistic of something like 1 in every 1000 people - that sounds way too frequent to me!

I just saw another preview for August Rush..I love Keri Russell and I think it would be a good movie I'd prolly see that one over the others
