Default 30 Days of Thanks - November 2nd

Let's keep this going because we all need a bit of positivity in our life.

Today I'm thankful that I didn't have to remake a batch of cupcakes for one of my daughter's preschool Halloween party. It was cancelled on Friday due to storms and I thought I would have to toss them and start over for today's party. But I guess they can be kept unfrosted in the freezer!! Yay!

Today I am very grateful to live in the country, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. (18 turkeys were in our front yard a few minutes ago!)

Thanks for getting us started Leah! Work is insane today!

Today I am thankful for being able to read. As an introvert, I love getting lost in a good book and taking interesting adventures with great characters, all without leaving my house. Yesterday, after a rather stressful day at work, I came home picked up a funny romance novel and was giggling away before I knew it. It gave me a great pick up for the rest of my evening.

My mother read at least a book a day, and while I can't meet her pace, she passed that love on to me and I in turn passed it on to my child, who is now passing it on to other children as a middle school English teacher specializing in reading. I am so proud of him and what he does.

Being able to read is a huge gift, not only for enjoyment, but also for knowledge, and one that I truly appreciate each and every day.

Today I am thankful for my coworkers/admin/friends who were there for me, checked in on me last night and this morning. The makers of tea and Tylenol are also on my list today.

We had an incident here at the school where I got caught in the middle of an assault between two students and got rocked as well.

Also thankful to the police officer who called to check in on me this morning.

Today I am thankful for Panera Bread muffins. I only had an apple for lunch and my co-worker brought me one in so I'm having that for a snack.

So sorry Jaye ... I hope you feel better soon.

How scary, Jaye! I hope that you are okay! I am totally amazed and appalled at some of the horrible behavior that happens in schools and sorry that you were exposed to it.

I'm thankful for this every day! Isn't it the best?!?!?! The turkeys in our front yard are ours, but I love that I live somewhere that I can have chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats and a horse.

Thankful today that I didn't have to work. No school for students yesterday and today. Teachers had in-service but I'm classified staff (for probably the last year) and I didn't have to go. Not only did I have a lot of homework to catch up on today, but I fell pretty hard yesterday and I am SORE. My son let in one of our dogs. He hates the laminate flooring so he will run in as fast as he can. He ran past me and hit my bad knee, right as I had all of my weight on that leg. I fell, hit my arm on the carpet cleaner, landed on my wrist, hit the back of my head on the floor, etc. My back hurts so much today. I'm glad I had off. I went and had my nails done, did some cleaning, and am getting ready to knock out my SPED law homework.

Today I'm thankful for some quiet time. I had a hysterectomy a week ago today, and while I have been resting, there still seems to be a lot going on. Today Sarah is in school and my hubby, Rich, has been out, leaving me with the house to myself and utter quiet. The loudest sound right now is the sound of my typing. I love it!

Today I am thankful that I don't have to cook dinner. There were so many leftovers from my grandson's birthday party that we all got a couple of Tupperware containers full of yummy food.

Hugs Jaye and Nat..speedy healing. I had one done in 2015 and it was the best decision I ever made.

Today I am thankful for a reliable car and doctors that are helpful. 2 appointments today (only one mine today thankfully), one tomorrow, one Thursday...I had 4 last Thursday with the latest supposed to be at 9pm, yes PM. He moved it to 6pm. I am thankful for him and the ability to text him if there are issues getting my medications etc.

Sorry for you Jaye! Hope you will feel better soon! You get a lot injuried! So scary! My prayers for you.
Natasha, sorry for you too! Hope the rest helps you a lot!

Today I'm thankful for the amazing lifeguard who give lessons to swim to my kids and especially to my son who was totally scared with water (He had his head under water by force in kindergarten) and and begins to regain confidence thanks to her patience and kindness.
I'm also grateful that the chickens we take care of for the children's school are doing well and failed to save themselves today... One fly really great!

I'm so thankful for my oldest son, Jack. I'm flat on my back after my procedure, and my husband is out of town. Jack took a taxi to the grocery store, bought groceries and cooked our dinner. He's never cooked before, so he called me every time he had a question, but he did it & it was delicious!

I'm loving reading everyone's grateful items. Today I'm grateful for family - my inlaws are visiting and we don't see them often, so I'm thankful for that.

This made me chuckle... are you thankful that they're visiting or that you don't see them often???

Today I am thankful that when I went to have my blood drawn for tests I have to have done every 6 weeks for my thyroid disease, that the lab tech was very gentle. The last time I was there, another lab tech stuck me with the needle and then proceeded to twist it around because blood was not coming into the tube. IT HURT LIKE CRAZY! My arm was so black and blue the next day and was sore for a week. Needless to say, I dread going for these tests, so it's so nice when the lab tech is nice and GENTLE.
