Thumbs down More toxic toys

My hubby ran across this article this morning. 1 in 3 toys tested were found to contain toxic material!! Some even U.S. made toys. This is so frustrating!!

you can search for toys by name at www.healthytoys.org.

I put in Lego, because 75% of my kids' gifts are Legos and they all came up as low risk for toxins.

Their database is only about 1500 toys, which sound large but they had none of the Thomas take Alongs my kids have, or most of the Legos.

Its really like you can't buy anything anymore. It was probably this way when we were kids but there was no research done about it. The Vtech vsmile system we got for our kids is HIGH
http://www.healthytoys.org/product.d...?getrecno=1341

pretty much everything our kids have that is listed has some bad things in it. Seriously what do you do, take away everything?

I have been VERY careful of the brands I buy my children - they are little, so lots of stuff goes in the mouth. I don't buy hardly anything at Walmart, etc. Plan Toys, Melissa and Doug and Manhattan Toys are most of our toys, and I was SO relieved to see everything by them LOW.

My hubby sent me this article yesterday too...I found this list of recalled toys too. It's so sad that these dangers even exist in toys...grrrr!
