NOAH SAID MOMMY!!!!!!!!
for the first time tonight!!!!! We could only get him to say it once, but it was clear as day. At least it's a start! For those of you who don't know, he's 2 1/2 and has some pretty significant speech/communication delays. He has ST and OT 1/week each, and we've seen drastic improvements the last couple of months through his therapies and lots of prayer and little God-miracles.
Today was a good day! (sorry if you're reading this more than once lol) |

aww... this warms my heart... and a tear to my eye. The first time my kiddo said mama... that has to be the best thing every said to me! My kiddo was also delayed at speech, so I know what you are going through, too.

That's so exciting, I'm sure your heart leapt! My youngest made huge advances with her speech therapy, it was like night and day. I'm so glad you're seeing results.

How exciting! Ben has apraxia, and it was around the same age that he finally started saying Mama. It brought tears to my eyes every time for a while.
When Ben was first diagnosed at 24 months (after a year of ST with no real progress), he had the expressive speech of a 9 month old. At 3.5, he's just about caught up with his peers. I hope this is the beginning of lots of speech successes for Noah!

Development happens in spurts and pauses instead of a steady increase which can be so frustrating... but when you see a spurt like that, it makes it all ok! How exciting for you! Way to go for getting early intervention- I know there will be more great progress for him and your family (that's why I do what I do too)!

That is so awesome Tracie!! As the mom of a deaf child with cochlear implants - I know the feeling - it is such a sweet thing to hear them say mommy for the first time. I am happy to say that ST and OT work small miracles!!! We are going on 3 1/2 years since my son got his cochlear implants and he is nearly caught up with his "normal hearing" peers! Yeah for you and Noah!!!

Super news!! So many children benefit from early interventions in ST and OT.
I've taught many that by the time they are 6 or 7...one never would guess there was an initial delay. Prayers and hugs. m |
