Lena, I tried Mozy, it never worked for me successfully. I never even got my initial backup done.

I burned my 2008 photos to DVD last weekend and it took 2 full DVD's!! And now I'm shooting RAW which will take up WAY more space. So the burning to DVD's thing is pretty much done for me at this point.

As I was thinking about shooting in RAW and the potential for space issues, I started getting a little paranoid. I thought about going with Mozy, but decided against it. Instead, I'm going to do a full major backup to my 2nd EHD (500GB) and bring it into work for storage (I use it once a month to backup my 1st EHD (250GB)). Jordan is going to copy it all onto a server back up tape for me, which will stay here at work. They are cheap and last much longer than DVD's and such, so he really thinks that's the way to go for me (since I have that option available).

The 2nd EHD is going to be kept here at work and go home once a month for backups. I realized that as great as it was that I had 2 EHD's and my laptop HD, if the house burned down while we were on vacation or something, all 3 would be gone together. Not the smartest backup plan. So keeping the 2nd EHD here at work will keep everything safe for me.

I got tired of burning DVDs. I decided that I only care about my layouts and photos so I've been uploading those to Smugmug. If my whole stash disappears, so be it.

I do backup to an EHD but that's about it.

Of course, I'm not scrapping at the moment so that may explain my carefree attitude toward my digi stash.

Well now I am on DVD #32! I'm going to try Mozy again.

I do have my kits on 2 different EHDs as well but like you said Col, does me no good since one is on the laptop and one is on the PC and both are sitting right here in my house on the same desk!

I use Mozy so my stash is backed up, but I hear you. My photos and LOs are backed up in multiple ways and very frequently. Stashes can be rebuilt, but if the photos and LOs are lost they're gone forever.
