When did you start nesting? (Pregnancy)
I'm about 15 and a half weeks pregnant.
Last week, I went to take a hot bath. I looked at the tub, and pre-pregnancy, would have gotten in. It's not like it was gross or grimy. It looked like it had been cleaned last week, or whatever. OH NO. My pregnant body was NOT getting in that filthy disgusting tub. I actually sat and scrubbed the tub out and cleaned it out before I would get in it. TOTAL difference from my pre-pregnancy self. Today, I went to the bathroom in MY room (no tub in my room- the tub is in our hall bathroom), and I freaked out. It just seemed so DIRTY to me. Mind you, this is how the bathroom has looked for ages. Not spotless, but not dirty, cleaned regularly, blah blah blah. Today, I got on my hands and knees and wiped the entire floor down with a Clorox wipe, cleaned the counters, re-organized all the cabinets, cleaned out under the sink, everything. My house is no dirtier than it has been my entire life. I've lived in this house since I was two, and the cleaning routine has not really changed much. But for some reason, in the past week or two, I suddenly have the feeling that everything is just filthy. I want to clean constantly. I feel the need to pick up after everyone. And, worse, it bugs me when people don't do the same. I literally yelled at my brother the other day for 10 minutes for not rinsing out the sink thoroughly after he had brushed his teeth. Now, it's not like he had toothpaste all over the sink. He had a little bit around the drain. That's it. First off, am I nesting or have I just gone completely batty? Secondly, I feel like 15ish weeks is waaay to early for me to be doing this... What was your nesting experience like, if you did go through nesting, and when did it start? Just curious...

I didn't start nesting til the week before I had my kiddo. Which was really annoying cos when I went into labour, I had the entire contents of all my kitchen cupboards out on the benches and floor because I felt the need to clean them all again. Was the last thing I felt like doing when I got home two days later with a newborn!!! I'm hoping it hits me earlier this pregnancy, as my house could do with some deep cleaning!
As for it being too early for you, I don't think so. What I've learnt about pregnancy is that everyone is different, every pregnancy is different and there's no right or wrong answers. So if u feel the need to clean, go for it! I would just try to lay off yelling at your family...they might get s bit sick of it considering u still have 25 weeks to go! Lol

If you're experiencing it, it's not too early, lol! But I was like Lani with my two... hit me about a week before I had the kids. I lived in an upstairs apartment when I was pg with my 1st and a few days before I had him I found myself on a chair out on the balcony washing the siding! With my second I all of a sudden decided our windows were flilthy and in the 90 degree heat of summer I teetered on the edge of a ladder washing them and bitching at anyone who interrupted me. Of course, I did work INSIDE the house too, but these 2 things stick out in my head as being slightly irrational

With my first I nested about 30 weeks, with my 2nd it was about 32 weeks and with my third it hit me about 10 weeks. I spent about 30 weeks of my pregnancy being a complete neat freak. It drove my husband wild.

With my first, I didn't really have any nesting feelings... with Caliber (2nd)... lol I think I was... maybe somewhere around 30 weeks... i used a tooth brush and soft scrub floor cleaner to scrub the grout of our entire apartment clean..... let me see with my 3rd... I wanna say around 34 weeks or so, but on top of that I already had to be like that because we were moving a few weeks after my due date...

with my first the day I went into labor I felt this intense need to clean everything. I went with my husband to get all the stuff I needed and lost my mucus plug on the way home because he had to stop at his moms.
With my second I cleaned all the time through out the whole pregnancy. It was bad. I went into labor twice and got put on bedrest because of the cleaning (I was moving heavy furniture and scrubbing the floors on my hands and knees in the middle of summer in Florida). My doctor was not happy with me at all LOL. With my last I cleaned from about 20 weeks on all the time. |

I never did the nesting thing...I used to keep a clean house anyway LOL. Now, with the dog and kiddo, plus DH and the cats...you'd never know it.

I was about a week before with all 4 of mine But the last one, even though things bothered me, I was so uncomfortable with the heat and it being the middle of summer, I just let it sit We just didn't have enough space for 5 people so no matter what I did, everything ended right back the way it was in less than a day! Now, new house new rules and they don't like it!!!!

I think I started nesting the moment I got pregnant!! For me it wasn't so much a 'clean' thing as just wanting to be home and not talk to too many people.

I don't remember happening to me either, but then kiddo was 4 weeks early and just started bed rest... I was working overtime at my job to get everything into place so people could cover for me when I was out on ML... so my mom had to come and clean the house while I was in the hospital... the baby's room wasn't even ready 100%!!
