Default Have you watched Nikki scrap yet?

The Hawt Mamas are rolling out a new feature where you can watch them scrap in quick videos and see how they pull off their creative genius! The first episode is Nikki E and it's so fun!

It's so fun to see how Nikki used my template with your gorgeous kit! I had to laugh when she deleted all the embellishments first because I don't use templates that way. I like how she makes it her own, not allowing my element placement to dictate hers. It's so interesting to see how she pulls in all the elements and papers she wants into Photoshop first, too. We scrap very differently! I drag elements right from the folder into the layout.

Super great idea to do this. It is so awesome to see someone else scrap a page!

I thought that was funny too! I was like...WHY USE A TEMPLATE AT ALL?! I like element placement on templates!

For one thing, she sure doesn't hem and haw about paper placement like I do. I waste so much time switching papers around.

LOL - I delete all elements from templates too; I mostly use them for paper and photo placement. I use PSE so the rest is totally different in that aspect. I also just drag from my folder right onto my layout... having that many things open to the left would send me over the edge I think!

Wow. If I could only get a page like that done in 5 minutes.

Seriously though, this was very interesting and I learned new ideas. Looking forward to the next episode.

One thing that amazed me was how quickly and decisively she shadowed everything! Shadows take me forevvvverrrr. I'm always messing around with and tweaking them.

Process vids are my fave. Can't wait to see more!

I do the same thing with templates. Ask poor Brooky who keeps me around despite how badly I bastardize her templates sometimes.

I only delete paper strips cause I don't use them on my own pages, so I don't use them in templates either. I don't delete the elements though! That was hilarious to me! I need help placing stuff. After everything is in place I delete them and then nudge things around if I need.

That was fantastic. I never thought of just deleting all the elements & using the paper placement part of the templates. I am like Nikki though. I open up everything I think I want to use all at once. :-) Creativity from chaos! :-)

Yes! Over the edge for sure. I started to feel a little anxious watching the video as those windows of elements were opening up in Photoshop! !! Eeek!

lol! It's fun to read how everyone scraps differently!
I love paper placement on templates, but it's rare that I use element guides. I feel like what I put there never "fits" me. Like, I love Brook's pages, but I can't make it work for me, lol!
I'm so happy that everyone is enjoying the video! It's a little scary being on display!

that was awesome!! And I feel validated... it's very much like the way I scrap, too! Delete all element placement... start with the paper, pull in all the elements I want to use and then end with alphas! The only difference in I don't go in order of elements and delete/close as I go along... I will have to try that!

I'm a huge fan of Nikki so it's very interesting to watch the video.
it's interesting that she seems to know what papers to place and where, i always take ages with paper placing and elements... lol
i love watching it, thanks Traci!

I love watching other people scrap but it always makes me anxious because I always feel like I am doing something wrong! LOL! I open everything all at once too, usually the whole kit, I never delete the elements in a kit and I have never gotten used to the clipping mask for papers, I just cut everything to fit! But I guess that is the lesson that we all can scrap differently, we can pick up tricks from each other and we can all scrap beautiful pages!

Another anxious one here watching all those open papers and elements, but she so quickly placed them that I understood why she did it. I have to open them one at a time to decide where to put them. Great video Nikki!!!! You make it look effortless.
