It's very convenient when you travel alone or want to take a group picture with your phone! I don't think it's sturdy enough to hold a camera, unless it's the compact/small one.
We have one that we used last year for our family photo, sadly, we don't use it as often as we should lol... I am just too lazy to carry it in my purse

THIS! This was the same experience I had while on my cruise! My mom and I cracked up every time we saw people taking pics with a selfies stick! We were so amused the whole 7-8 days at the nonsense! They were EVERYWHERE!

I bought Kelsie (age 11) one for Valentine's Day and I think the novelty of it wore off pretty quickly. She used it for a week or two and I don't think I've seen it since lol! She wanted one back at Christmas time after seeing them in Walgreen's but when I went back to get it they were sold out. I ended up ordering a $10 URPOWER brand one from Amazon but it was decent quality and held her iPod Touch or an iPhone with no issues. I think it could be useful for road trips and taking group photos in the car.

Oh, get a selfie stick!! Sure, a lot of people have them now, but as long as you are being courteous to people around and don't care if someone chuckles it will be fun. You should at least have one handy in case you need it.

I think that's what made it annoying for me is they seem cumbersome and invade other's space when walking around places. Of course if you want one for a group shot at a landmark or something it might be useful...but I think they just look silly if you are generally walking around somewhere with one

get one, get one, get one!

I got one for our trip to California in Feb. I got so many photos of the 3 of us that I wouldnt have gotten with out the selfie stick. I LOVED it.

You just have to be aware of who is around you but I didnt find it intruding when others were using them around me. It did go in my bag though when I wasnt using it.

i picked one up because it was $5 and it helped me get in more pictures with my family. it's hard to get everyone crammed in when i'm holding it at arm's length. it's not used all the time and i feel self conscious when it's out at a time i could ask someone to take it instead, kwim? i took it on a hike with some of our church's youth & it was really nice to have available! i use the timer to avoid camera shake and it always works out great.

get one but be courteous of others around you it'll be nice to have pictures of you with your kids on this new adventure.

I think if you want it you should get on! It's not like you know the people you'll be around and you might miss out on photos because of it It's a big step you're taking to do it for you

I bought one. It is in a cabinet and has not been opened yet. I planned to give it to my daughter for her birthday but might end up using it before that since we are going on a family trip. My husband and daughter went ziplining last year. My husband took his very first selfie on the zipline and a selfie stick would have made it a lot better picture. We also hate asking people to take pictures for us so having one will allow some pictures of the 4 of us with background behind us, not just a close up of us all jammed together. Plus, my daughter, turning 13, will surely love it. I paid $1 for mine... an Amazon coupon deal.

They are everywhere here too but I think I'm not prepared to carry and use one yet! But what Sherri said... I totally feel that! :/
