Default Pocket Scrapbooking- 2 page LOs

Hi ladies! I am currently working on my boys' 2013 books. I will be doing some traditional scrapping for pages that have 1 or 2 pictures but I plan on doing some pocket scrapping (digitally) for events that have lots of pictures (example: snow tubing). Can you all show me some of your favorite 2 page pocket scrapbooking LOs? I am having a hard time figuring out what looks best. I would like to use templates but even then I am not sure how the double LOs should fit together.

Thanks in advance for the examples.

I only do 2 page layouts for my weekly layouts. You can click on my gallery button and see my most recent layouts. I start by putting my two templates together in a 24x12" canvas and that helps me make sure it flows together well.

Have you checked out the pocket scrapping feature on the blog? It's every Tuesday and a really easy way to check out what people are doing each week without having to filter through the gallery yourself to find them (although that is a great way to pass time, too!). But there are so many different takes on the pocket style highlighted each week so it's a nice way to see them all in one place and get some ideas!

Although I just realized that doesn't show the whole 2 page spread together so I'm not sure how helpful I actually was. Sorry about that! :/

Since this is not a Project Life book that goes by weeks, is it best just to stick with one page LOs? These LOs are going in my kids yearly books so there will be LOs about a zoo trip, or camping, etc. It will be a mixture of pocket and traditional scrapping so just not sure what would look best.

My family's books are always a mix of styles because I like to try different things. Although I admit I have not done true "pocket" scrapping before. So I think it's completely ok to do each page how works best for that page

I thought I'd suggest looking at some of Cindy's two page templates. These would not be pocket style, but might work for you. I like to use them for my monthly "recaps" that I put at the beginning of the rest of the month's pages. Here are two of them from this year.

I don't think it matters. My non-Project Life layouts can be 1 or 2 pages depending how many pictures I want to use. Some of them are pocket style and some aren't. It doesn't bother me to have 2 very different layouts next to each other in the book as long as they're clearly about different things. On the other hand, if I'm going to have 2 zoo pages from the same trip next to each other I'd do a 2-pager so they coordinated.

I do a PL page for each day. Just like you are saying, some events just have a ton of photos. I do a few double page spreads but a lot of times I put a TON of photos on a single page. When you think about it 4x6 is actually a really huge picture so you really have more room to break things up than you think. Take a look at my gallery to see what I mean.
