Default 4th grade boy book suggestions

Nathan is going into 4th grade and I need some books for him this summer. He used to read Junie B and Magic Treehouse books, he is 'over' those. He has read all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I'm going to go enroll him in the summer reading program but I was wondering if you all had any suggestions!

JP's going into fourth grade as well. He loves the following series:

Deltora Quest
Beast Quest
Goosebumps
Rotten School (from the same guy who does Goosebumps)
Knights of the Lunchtable (graphic novel series--very fun!)
The Homework Machine (not a series)
Star Wars

ETA: JP loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid too. He's super excited that they're making the first one into a movie!

I can only remember the books my youngest read, but he was such an advanced reader, that it was hard finding things at his reading level that appropriate content.

I loved getting the Chinaberry catalogl. They have a website http://www.chinaberry.com/ where you can see the books they love and why. They do sell books, and I have purchased a lot from them over the years, but have also used them as a resource when I needed books from the library as well.

The 39 Clues series is popular for kids who loved Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Louis Sachar-Sideways stories from wayside school
Dan Gutman books--Mostly baseball books
Spyderwick Chronicles

The Inkheart Series if he is a strong reader

Have you checked out the 39 Clues books? I think there are 2 or 3 of them out now...they look interesting, but I'm not sure what age level they're intended for.

I know these aren't really boy books but rather a list of general fourth grade books. It should still be helpful. One of my all time favorites is on this list (and DH said he loved it too!) From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Josh is in 4th grade too and these are the books he has read this year:

The Warriors Series by Erin Hunter
The Seekers Series by Erin Hunter
Percy Jackson Series - Rick Riordan
Pendragon Series - D.J MacHale
Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer

and I'm sure he's already read them but the Harry Potter Series Josh read last summer.

My daughter is also going into the fourth grade and loves the Hank Zipzer series written by Henry Winkler. I also got her hooked on Judy Blume, of course...and she just finished reading Twilight, which I was slightly hesitant to let her read at first, but she really liked it.

Hank the Cowdog is another series that he might enjoy.

Hey Lena! DH is a 4th grade teacher, and a lot of his students LOVE anything by Gary Paulsen (Hatchet, The Hunt, Brian's Winter, Brian's Return, etc.). They are outdoorsy-type books, and even the boys love them!

Geary just finished 4th grade and the Percy Jackson books were by far his very favorite. The Lightning Thief is the first book.

My friend told me about those a little while ago (her son is in 5th grade and loved them)!
