No, but I feel like I constantly clear my throat. Strange since I don't do that the rest of the day.

Anytime I read aloud, or often, when I sing my son to sleep, I'm yawning so bad I can hardly get through it.
P.S. Thanks. This post made me yawn.

Yep! Its like it is subconscious way to say...go to sleep kiddos, I'm tired! Course then afterward I usually catch a second wind and stay up too late!

I don't think that I do, but I'll pay better attention now to verify! lol

my son is 8 and he has to read a short 5 minute story to me each night for homework. Seriously, I'm always nodding off toward the end. I wish I could have him read it to me about 11pm at night so I could go fall asleep!

I do it whenever I have to read out loud. And yes, I am usually tired, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I remember growing up, my mom always did this. I don't do it when I read for my son at night, except for in the early mornings. I can't read books out loud the first hour or so after waking up.

hahah... how that I think of it, yes, I do... but it doesn't happen during the middle of the day when I'm reading to kiddo... only at night.
I remember when I was a kid and I would be reading to my mom and she would be "sleeping"... I'd bump her and say, "are you sleeping?!!?" Mom - "no" Me - "well, what was the last thing I read?" Luckily, Mom would "wake" right before I noticed her nodding off...

My DH and I both do it, too! What's awful is that we're almost always ready for bed afterwards and the girls are still wide awake. Then we're just grumpy. lolol

Only if I'm reading in the evening - during the bedtime story. :P

My eyes water when I read to the kids. Not sure if its exhaustion or eye strain or the fact that my voice is a lot higher when I read to them out loud. I always try to make it more interesting by doing different voices for the different characters I am reading....but lately we havent been doing bed time stories because we have all been going to be WAY too late.

I seriously thought this was only me! I yawn all throughout bedtime stories. And I try to suppress them, which really only makes them last longer.

Yes, definitely. I can get through 2 shortish books, then I give up. Better that I'm not lying down and reading too, LOL.

I have to dictate for my job and about a year ago I was sort of reading my kids a bedtime story and sort of dozing off to sleep. Apparently, I ended the story with "End of Dictation" instead of "The End". My daughter said "Mom, what does end of dictation mean" and I immediately realized my mistake. Now its a big joke in our house to end our bedtime story with "End of Dictation". You know, I should really scrap this memory and I happen to already own "Bookworm"....
