Default QOTD: 04/15 BBQ

Do you BBQ, grill indoors or out, prefer pan-frying or baking most dishes?

I love BBQ burgers. I buy grassfed beef, chop up some onions to mix into the patties and sprinkle spices overtop, usually some blend of peppers, onion, garlic, salt & pepper. I put cheese on for my hubs but not for me.

For veggies I love to grill chopped up veggies, toss in olive oil and sprinkle with balsalmic vinegar and spices.

I love grilled hotdogs but not my hubs so sometimes I get him a steak (I'm not a big steak eater) instead.

For indoors, I have a George Foreman grill and will oil some pork chops or chicken breasts that turn out nice and juicy and its so fast too. I don't like to spend tons of time in the kitchen so convenience and speed is often a deciding point in my meal planning.

For baking, I love to chop up sweet potatoes/white potatoes and veggies, oil and spice them and bake them on a cookie sheet in the oven. Sometimes I will also add in some cubed chicken with spices (I've got a mexican spice blend that is so good).

Love to grill out - prefer charcoal, but we now we only have a gas grill. We grill a lot during the summer... mostly burgers, brats and hotdogs... love to do veggie packs of broccoli, zucchini, and cauliflower... and when we could have potatoes - so good.

During the winter we have a brat griller, but it's not the same...

BBQ is life..... like I am so excited that it's BBQ season!! I make BBQ nearly every day all summer long. The only thing that annoys me has nothing to do with the food but the fact that I am the Grill Master in the family, I love everything about grilling, BBQ gear etc, BUT EVERYTHING is geared towards men....'king of the grill', all gift sets are packaged for fathers day..... it just annoys me, I want "Queen of the grill" gear, I want fun phrased aprons, decor, & accessories too.......

I cook indoors but we love to grill in the summer. Grilling is my husband's department. Which makes me love it even more!!

Jenn, maybe you can make a fun Queen of the Grill apron or such - crickets can do anything these days!

I love barbecue food but I can't barbecue at all!! My husband is the one that does it. But we got rid of our barbecue before our move so we need to buy another one. So these days it's mostly baked or pan fried.

I like BBQ. Obviously we only do for part of the year. A friend of mine got this indoor smokeless grill that is supposed to taste as if you were grilling outside (phillips indoor smokeless grill i think is the name)

My favourite on the grill is probably beer can chicken!

I've heard of that but never tried it. Maybe this summer I should!

I would love to have things grilled for dinner but DH gets home too late from work to do so & I refuse to learn how to grill. It's the only (teeny-tiny) amount of cooking he will agree to do a handful of times a year. If I learn how to do it, he'll never do it again. I already cook dinner 5-6x a week. I don't need extra cooking duty!

We don't have a grill nor an outdoor place to grill. So, I bought a small grill pan to grill on the stove instead.

One of the things I love about BBQing is no cleanup other than giving the grill a scrub with the brush for a minute.

For me, BBQ season is all year around, even with -40C winters
I'm the designated BBQ'er, I don't think hubby even knows how to operate our Big Green Egg. The best thing about it is minimal clean-up for sure!

WOW you are one diehard griller! I'm definitely a fair weather griller, though my husband has grilled a couple times in the snow!

Yes! My hubby will grill all year long. If it's raining, he'll pull the Weber into the garage. LOL! He will only grill on a charcoal grill. No cooking with gas for him.
